I know that AoA hasn't opened yet, so I don't know if this can be answered or not, but here goes...

My wife and I are considering staying at Aoa with our 15 month old daughter on our possible Thanksgiving trip due to the suites. However, we are concerned about the buses. One of the reasons that we liked to stay at Pop Century was that it had a much easier bus route than does the All Stars. Does anyone know anything about what AoA's bus route will be? Will the only be one stop like with Pop?

Nothing has been announced. Given the number of rooms I'd be surprised if the resorts shared buses during peak times. We have no idea if they'll wind up sharing buses during the slower time periods. Not the end of the world if they do.

I would not be surprised if it shares a route with Pop during the slower times like at the All Star resorts. I wouldn't let that stop you from booking, though. Every other resort shares a bus or has multiple stops within the resort. If it ends up sharing a bus with Pop you will have the same issue if you book at Pop.

I believe that AoA has the same numbe rof buildings as Pop (10), sinc eit was supposed to be the other half of Pop originally. To me, that means if Pop only has the one stop area, then AoA would, too. However, I have been know to be wrong. :rotfl:

Wasn't there something in the talk lines from Disney saying that it's going to be it's own bus service to all of the major places and not shared? I can't seem to find the link to the article on this.

Yes, AA definitely will have one central bus stop.

As to sharing with Pop, nobody knows yet.

But consider this: Pop & AA together will have roughly the same number of beds as the 3 All-Stars combined. So it seems likely they may have the same transportation model as the ASR: shared during the day, separate during peak times, and separate for MK.

And also, although we will know within the next couple of weeks what the initial service will be, it certainly could change if Disney decides it's not working the way they want it.

I just spent 10 days in Disney World  and had several bus trips where I was the only one on the bus so I had some nice conversations with the drivers :yay: One driver who has worked for Disney for many, many years told me that Art of Animation will NOT share buses with Pop :woohoo: In fact, according to him, they have earmarked 60 buses to service Art of Animation :dance3: Of course, time will tell :rolleyes1

It doesn't work that way.

The bus fleet is being enlarged, but not by 60. Some of the new buses are replacing the old high-floor ones.

We stayed at POP over Xmas and the bus driver said AoA will NOT share buses with POP. He also mentioned that they were hiring more bus drivers to do that route. Just passing on what I heard. :)

While I can understand that AoA will have it's own buses at peak times, I do have to wonder if they will share with Pop during the less busy mid-day hours. That would make sense. But, who knows.
