Question about discounts...

As long as both rooms are booked under the reservation under your name (or done for friends and family by you) you would get the discount.

Updates on several questions:

You need to show your ID when you check-in to the resort. Most CPs are not allowed to work the final day of the program and you have to turn in your ID on your last day of work (which is typically the second to last day). The latest you should book your reservation is the third day before the end of your program.

To use the 50% off dining coupon you still need your Cast ID - I was asked for it at Coronado and Germany.

The Cruise discount kicks in after 90 days of employment.

You get the booklet in October... it is mailed to you so make sure your mailing address is up to date. Several packets went to CPs home addresses.

There are blackout dates for several of the coupons, most are not good for the two week holiday rush in December (over Christmas). Some also expire at the end of the year opposed to going through Oct. 31st of the next year. Therefore, if your CP ends on Jan 2 like many did this year, you'd have to use everything a week before Christmas.

So does that mean you can book a cruise with the discount and go on it at the end of your program?

TIA!

You don't ever have to actually sleep at your complex - they really just want your rent money -- so yes you can definitely stay at the hotels with friends and family.

If you are working it might be more of a challenge to get to your work location (or it might be easier but something to think about).

Awesome, thanks. :)

When is the earliest point in your college program that you can buy discounted tickets for the parks?

Is it the day of traditions or the day after?

I read that someone said the discount was 10% off. Can anyone else second that?

Thanks!

As soon as you get your ID, which you get at Traditions (Day 3).

And that sounds about right for the discount amount.

It says that you can get up to 40% (or 50%) on the hotel reservations, and I know that it can vary depending on the season. But are these discount amounts more the exception or the rule?

If there are enough rooms available, and if you book out far enough, you almost always get the 40%/50%. However, when there are fewer Cast rooms available (such as when you book closer to your travel dates, or the hotel is experiencing high occupancy), you may get a lower percentage.

When booking Cast-Discounted Rooms through The Hub, the system will automatically tell you what percentage discount is available.

Do cast members get discounts on Disney Cruislines?

Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies do indeed get discounts on Disney Cruise Line.

There are three main discounts.

There is a Space Available discount. These discounts are released several weeks before the cruise date, and can reach as high as 70% or 80%.

All Cast Members and Employees receive a 10% Discount off Florida Resident prices, even if they are not Florida Residents themselves.

In addition, all Cast Members and Employees receive a 15% Discount off Full Rate fares.

you said earlier that it's not a good idea to use the cast member in-room discounts on resorts if you aren't staying with the guests. What if you are staying with them some days, but other days (ie days where you have to get to work the next day) you stay at your complex? What would you suggest in that situation?

If you are staying someday but not the others i would definantly book the whole stay in your name.

Also this would allow you to use the extra magic hours with your family if you are staying in the room
