The
DVC member you rent from will have to make arrangements for you to get
DDP. Those arrangements must be made through DVC Member Services, and they will not speak to a non-member. You will pay for your DDP directly at checkin -- that's not something you pay the owner for.
i think it is 37.99 per adult per day and 10.99 per child per day. it is a dollar cheaper than it was last year, so that should be right , when we went it was 38.99 and 11.99.
Actually, it's $37.99 for adults (which Disney defines at 10 and older) and
$9.99 for children 3-9. Kids under 3 can eat off siblings or parents' plates at no charge. DDP goes by
nights of your stay, so it would be 4X whatever your daily price is.
Here's a link to the 2008 DDP FAQ over on the DIS DDP board:

The very first post on that thread will tell you just about everything you need to know, and it also has links to the official DDP brochures. Read the brochures, because DDP has changed a lot for 2008.
Also, keep in mind that the gratuity is
NOT included in DDP, and with a party of six, you will have an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill (on table service meals only, not counter service), which you will have to pay.
...you can call 180 days before your trip to book your dining reservations for your sit down meals.
You can make dining reservations 180 days out from the exact date of the meal, regardless of where you are staying, or whether you are on DDP or not.
With a confirmation number for a Disney resort, including DVC, you can call 180 days from arrival and make reservations for your arrival date and up to 9 additional days after arrival. That is called "180+10," and it's a perk of staying onsite. Not all of the seats are available during that +10 period, but if one date is not available, just call back exactly at 180 days and you'll probably get what you want.
