I had 2 silly questions for the Deluxe plan.
We are a family of 5 going the first week in Feb and are on the deluxe plan.
I do not eat desserts... always watching the figure hehe
so with that in mind I had 2 silly but for my family important questions...

1. Do they offer sugar free desserts at the TS?

2. If they don't offer sugar free desserts can I order my dessert and give it to my daughter at the table without having to go to Disney jail?

My boys are on the adult plan and my DD is on the child plan. I am thinking there might be a little jaw dropping or jealousy on her part if she sees the boys getting REALLY good desserts and she gets a little shot glass of ice cream :rotfl: I mean we are all on the same plan and all at the same table so common sense tells me it shouldn't be a problem to hand her my special adult dessert but with everything I have read ...WOW... I might be scared to try it :rotfl:

Of course she wouldn't get the child dessert AND the adult dessert :rotfl:
As kids go dessert is a food group and she might appreciate having the nicer desserts.

Some of the TS's offer sugar-free desserts if not all.

I would say go ahead and give the dessert to your younger daughter. They really can't say much of anything you have paid for the adult DDP plan for yourself.

I agree with you on the dessert thing. I usually only take a bite or two of anything I order. I so wish they would allow you to choose appetizer or dessert. BUT don't see that happening.

I don't know about sugar free desserts, but no one will have a problem with you passing your dessert to your DD. I do it pretty often with my kids, because I'm just not a sweets person.

With the deluxe plan you get both appetizer and dessert. I have 2 growing boys (10,13) and a hubby who all have bottomless pits for stomachs so that is why we go deluxe .... I myself am a light, healthy eater.

I had been planning on passing DD my dessert but reading all these rules and regs and problems with the dining plan and it kind of worried me :rotfl:
I can see Mickey showing up with handcuffs to take me to Disney jail :rotfl:

I wish they would offer healthy dessert options... instead of all that chocolate and sugar:scared:

We just got back and I wanted to update what I learned from this trip..

none of the places we ate at offered sugar free desserts. They were very happy to bring me an adult dessert that I gave my DD (who was on the child version)

She got to eat the moose at Les Ceillers, the smores at prime time... you get the idea...:cloud9:

Sorry I missed this before you went. We love the sugar free dessert at Mama Melrose.

Glad that it worked out for you though, and you avoided "Disney Jail" :rotfl:

Would you do the DxDDP again?

Often, you have to ask for sugar free. A lot of restaurants just don't put it on the menu. it's a specialty item. Feel free to ask, though. Lots of diabetics at WDW, I'm sure you'll find something.

We are going to Disney again in June (DD6 and myself) we had planned to do the deluxe but canceled it when we got home. I am a gastric bypass gal and her and I wasted a lot of food this trip... it was okay because we had DH and my 2 boys with us who polished off EVERYTHING... but with the upcoming trip we won't have any garbage pits. We could go to a TS and order the appy and kids meal and be completely full :rotfl:
We are still keeping the same TS ADRS as CS doesn't sit well with me ... I need good healthy food and not greasy burgers :lmao:
But an appy and kids meal would run us maybe $20

I still think the deluxe plan is a good deal if you like fine dining.... and we did a lot of fine dining as you will see in my trip report (I am only 1/2 done with it so far) Its just in our particular case in June it doesn't make much sense to pay for food I can't eat. :thumbsup2
