Question about decorations??

I know someone just asked this question the other day, but I couldn't find the thread when I did a search.

When do the resorts take down their Christmas decorations? Specifically the GF?

Also, when do the Osborne lights come down? And when does the Christmas parade at MK end?

I'm trying to find out if anything will still be up when we arrive on January 2nd.

We were there January 2nd through the 6th,and they had already started taking the Gingerbread house down. Everything else was still intact.

Also, when do the Osborne lights come down?

They were up through the entire time we were there.

And when does the Christmas parade at MK end?

I believe the last is shown either New Year's Eve or New Years Day, because it was back to the regular afternoon parade, and Spectro when we were there.

I'm trying to find out if anything will still be up when we arrive on January 2nd.

The rest of the resorts still had their decorations up, as did Downtown Disney. The decorations were still up in the parks, as well. The only thing you might miss is the parade, the Gingerbread House, the Candlelight Processional, and the Christmas breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. Also, the characters won't be dressed for Christmas any longer.

We were there January 5 through 11, and found decorations still in some of the resorts when we left. We also caught the last night of the Osborne lights on the 6th.

- Polynesian was still in full-force on the 11th.
- Contemporary dismantled the exterior trees on about the 10th.
- AKL still decorated through the 7th.

You should still be able to get a good feel for a WDW Christmas, though.

In 2001 everything (except the Osborne Lights, which were up until the 7th I think) came down at once, on Jan 4th. We got back to WL around 11 PM on the 4th and they had hyrdolifts up and were taking down the outdoors wreaths. When we awoke the next morning the lodge had been striped bare of decorations, seemingly by elves. Same thing for MK. Everything gone overnight. It was pretty wild. Perhaps with the workforce reductions since then they have to stretch things out a bit.

I'm sure you'll see the resorts decorated, and the Osbourne lights should be on til Jan 6th,
but the Christmas parade at MK ends on Dec 31st.

I was at GF January 2 this year (for the GF Tea) and I remember that all the decorations were up and the Gingerbread house was there (honestly don't remember much about it but I remember having a nice talk with the friendly CM who was guarding it).
