Maybe a silly question, but how does it work? Is it like DLR where you go through the turnstiles and are allowed into a certain area of the park and then wait for the rope drop?

We have never tried to get there right at opening before, usually just head over there sometime after 10:00 from the other park. Just wondering what to expect...

Right now DCA allows folks in at 9:30am and you can ride and FP Soarin and get WOC FPs. I believe they are also letting you ride Little Mermaid as well. They have rope drop to the Paradise Pier area for Screamin and TSMM. I believe they also have one by Bugs Land? But I have never done that rope drop.

After June 15th and the grand re-opening of DCA and the opening of Carsland, it is anyone's guess how they will do rope drop. DCA's hours are changing and the way it handles the increased crowds will change as well. It would make sense that they might copy some of the strategies from DL, but they may have new procedures as well. Especially, since during the summer, the FP distribution for RSR will be at the entrance for Bugs Land.

Thanks so much, we are going end of August so I will ask again closer to the time to see what they are doing!

My guess (and this is pure speculation) is that after June 15th DCA will have a similar rope drop procedure to DL where they'll let you wander around Buena Vista Street for a few min prior to park opening and hold you at the end of BVS. Then at park opening guests will have free reign of the park.

That would make sense for sure. I wonder how they will handle people who want to line up for RSR FPs? In DL, they had the FP line separate from the masses for ST when it first re-opened. I wonder if they will do something like that for DCA.
