Hello all!

We stayed at Coronado in 2018. It was in the Ranchos area in building 6B, ground floor on the side facing away from the path and looking out into the trees. It's renovated bathroom was one large room with the toilet all the way to one side and the shower/tub on the other. It looked like a handicap-accessible room layout but we were told it wasn't since it had a tub and two beds instead of a king (plus the location made zero sense being so far in the back of the resort). It was an interesting and surprisingly helpful bathroom layout.

Thing is, that's not the room we were originally supposed to get. Long story short, my elderly mother had let our travel agent know she had difficulty walking but wanted a tub for soaking. We were supposed to have an accessible room but our assigned room wasn't ready when we arrived just before midnight. They gave us the Ranchos room instead and she liked it so much we didn't accept the offer to move when the other room opened up. We're headed back to Coronado in Sept and would like to request such a room again. Does anyone recognize what type of room this is? Every review, booking description and Youtube video I've seen doesn't match it. It's not an accessible room since it has the tub and two beds yet the bathroom is one large room instead of being sectioned off into sink area and bathroom. It was newly renovated based on the room decor. What type of room did we stay in???

Accessible rooms can have two beds, and there are accessible rooms with tubs - not all of them have roll-in showers. I found this video on YouTube of an accessible room at CSR with a tub. This is in Cabanas, but the rooms would be the same regardless of the section. Did your room look like this?

If it did, I'm not sure whether you can book an accessible room or if you need to call in to request it, but you can always request an accessible room without the roll-in shower.

You can book them online. You click "Accessible" check box
That said, I don't know if you can book exact types or just general Accessible. I've never checked the box

@nkereina: Thank you for the video! Yes, it looked just like that. Good to know we can request without the shower since the tub is a must for the room - her knees are terrible and need a good soak every night after walking the parks.

Mine too. I go with the hot tub since even getting in and out of the tub in the room is hard. Hot tub feels AWESOME though.
