OK, I made a design on my computer using a Waltograph font that I downloaded for free off the internet. Is it legal for me to have t-shirts printed with my design for my family's next trip? I would have to purchase the shirts from the printer, but there will only be 10 of them made and will only be for us. The design has a Mickey head on it. Can I do this and wear the shirts to Disney without them getting upset with me?

You could make them yourself and be fine but to have them printed by a retailer - that is probably not going to happen. If you have any characters or even words like "disney" - they cannot do it. Or at least that has been my experience.

Okay, so what if I screen printed them myself? Am I going to be forced to hand over my shirt when I go through the turnstiles at WDW?

I have never had that happen to me or even heard of that happening - in fact quite the opposite - normally the cast members are the ones that do the most complimenting. But of course, I am not the expert.

We just returned and I has shirts with iron on transfers and shirts with embroidery designs and any comments I had were positive. I also used the Walt disney font and added WDW 2007 to the embroidery shirts - no problems at all and I had wondered if about it just like you are.

I have been wearing home made shirts to the parks since 2005 and I go once or twice a year. I have only had positive comments from the CM's. I am there spending my money on everything else, so I don't think they care about my tshirts. However, if I was trying to sell them, well that's another story. They would shut me down in a heartbeat, at least that is what I have been told. Not that I am good enough to sell my work, but just in case. :lmao:

Thank you for all of your replies. My family and I shall wear my design proudly.
