Question about Contemporary & Parking

Hi!

Well I am finally 25 and can rent a car. However, I have no idea how this works with parking. I am staying with two friends at the Contemporary resort. They are arriving before me (w/o a car). When I get to WDW, do I have to pay to get to the Contemporary? What about getting the parking pass since my friends will have already checked in?

If your a registed guest, unless you use valet parking, there won't be any charge. Just explain what the deal is to the officier at the guard house, I'm sure they'll let you in and park, then you could ask at the front desk about a pass....I think you'll be fine.

You do not have to be a guest of the Contemporary to use its valet parking. Cost is $6/day plus tip. (There is no charge other than tip if you have a valid handicap permit). If you pay for valet at one WDW hotel, there is no charge (except for the tip) to valet at another WDW hotel that same day. Ask for a tag that proves you paid if the valets do not automatically give you one.

Aero99, I stayed at the Contemporay Resort for the first time on my last WDW vacation. I really enjoyed the resort (loved the pool area). I had a Tower Club room with a Magic Kingdom view. This view also gave me a view (if I looked down) of the Contemporary's parking lot. Here is the link to my Contemporary parking lot view photo. And here's the link to another photo. Gosh, Melissa, if you're that excited over parking lot photos, just wait until you get to experience that parking lot for YOURSELF!! In your RENTAL CAR!! Sorry, I just had to tease you.

I really enjoyed the Contemporary. I hope you have as much fun there as my young daughter and I had. The location is perfect (a Magic Kingdom Resort), and the marina is kick-butt (waterskiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, and so on). Have a wonderful vacation!
