Question about codes

I called yesterday to make the payoff on our trip to WDW...our very 1st. I saw there was a code for Room only rates and wasn't sure if it would aplly to my family or not So I asked the woman about it..She asked if there was a code and I told her it was BUK as I had been looking at it on this site. She said she can not find that code. I confirmed with her that I was looking for a room only code. She asked where I found it and I told her the DIS. She then told me that this is not an official site and that she had no codes I was looking for.... I thought that the codes were from Disney not for travel agencies or for buying tickets and reservations through the DIS... how do these codes work..was I right to ask for this discount through Disney or did I go about it the wrong way? AND if I did something wrong am I out of luck now for any posible discount, since I am paid in full now?

I also asked if there was a Gov employee discount and was told there was not! I thought there was but again I am new at all this. help Help HELP

In order to qualify for this discount you had to book by 7/28... did you call after the 28th?
