Question about closing on the contract we just sold

We just sold a contract through Shontell.

The closing is scheduled for May 17. We leave for Florida on the 19th.

I'm sure we will have someone pick up our mail and hold the check until we get back.

Is there any other way to have the money deposited in our account? I'd rather not have that check sitting around while we are gone.

Keep in mind that there is a decent likelihood that your transaction will close early. The close date is just an estimate .. if DVC passes on ROFR quickly and both you and the buyer respond with the required docs on a timely basis, then you will probably close before the expected date. In our resale, we closed a week before the originally scheduled date and our ROFR response took about 20 days.

Call Shontell. Maybe she or the closing company can hold the check and expressmail it after you return home.

If you prefer, maybe you can pick it up while in Florida. Although personally, I wouldn't use precious vacation time to do that.

Ask if it would be possible for the closing company to wire the money into your account directly.
