Question about close contacts and travel

Hi guys. I’m confused about the isolation requirements and travel etc if someone is considered a close contact.

Now in Ontario you don’t need to isolate if you are a close contact if you are fully vaccinated. Is that the same for travel, specifically by air?

Obviously we need to test before flying anyways. But wondering if say one of us gets notified a day or two before our trip that someone is a close contact (most worried about my son being exposed at school). Would we still be allowed to travel as long as we test negative?

I would say yes. They are not going to ask about close contact but if your neg or positive

You do not need to isolate if you are a fully vaccinated close contact, you only need to self-monitor for symptoms. You only need to isolate if your close contact resides in your household. However, the risk is that if there were a close contact one or two days before you leave, you may very well test negative on the rapid test required to fly to the States and if they did contract covid, it probably wouldn't test positive for a few days after exposure and then you will not be able to pass the pre-departure PCR required to return, or risk being sick on your trip if they are symptomatic. I know a friend that is travelling soon and is pulling her kids our of school the entire week before they leave just for this reason.
