Question about Christmas Stays

Would love to go WDW over Christmas but it's not the best time to get off work. We've never been to WDW over Christmas so I have no idea how early I'd have to book a room. So my question is when is the latest time that I could get a room booked for over Christmas or should I just book a room now and put down the night's deposit and just wait to see if we can actually go?

Traditionally, Christmas week is the busiest of the year and very hard to book. World events have lessened the demand somewhat the last two years. I agree that it is a lot easier to cancel a reservation that you have than it is to book last minute. Go ahead and book and watch your cancellation deadlines/policies.
