Question about Christmas decorations and how to affix them

I am putting my my Christmas decorations and want to put some garland over my doorframe. I'm not sure how to affix it though. I don't want to put staples in my wall, and tape won't cut it. Help me think of ideas! This is my first year REALLY decorating a place on my own (I'm 22 and just got my first good sized condo with enough room to actually decorate) and I am a little lost when it comes to things like this. Help please!

There are hooks that attach to the wall with an adhesive that isn't supposed to pull up the paint when you remove them. They're made by either 3M or Scotch, I can't remember which. I'm pretty sure I've seen them in the home improvement section at Target.
