I rebooked my upcoming trip using cheaptickets.com which got me better dates (the ones I wanted) and a better room at the DLH (deluxe instead of standard) for the same price I was paying. Thank you to the person who posted the deal on another thread! I cancelled my exsiting DLH reservation and then fear struck me. I never book with these cheaper sites. I know they can save money which is great but I just never have, I have always booked direct with the hotel I am staying at. I guess my fear is that I will show up and there will be a problem with my reservation. Can someone please calm my fears if you have used them before. Thank you!!!!!!

I've booked through various 3rd parties before and never had an issue.

If you really question it (even if you trust a particular online travel agency) you could call up the hotel and confirm your reservation. Occasionally this is a good idea even with a trusted OTA simply because sometimes the transmission of a reservation gets lost. I've confirmed my reservation before in addition to making special requests that couldn't be done with the original reservation.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so happy when I hear that people using 3rd party sites have had no problems. When I called the Disney Travel Company to cancel my current reseravation he said that they would be unable to see my cheapticket.com reservation. I thought that was strange. They said when I check in they use my reservation number that cheaptickets sent me. I am unsure why he couldn't use that number to look it up over the phone. He was less than helpful and actually I was treated poorly when I told him why I was canceling. I wish I had time to do the survey, I was in a hurry to grab my kids from school or I would have left negative feedback for his poor attitude.

I meant call the Disneyland Hotel directly. Usually there should be a number on your reservation, but the Disneyland website is showing this number:

(714) 778-6600

Maybe "never had a problem" might have been an overstatement. I probably use Priceline more than any other OTA but have used others to book hotel rooms. I've sometimes gotten the suspicion that we were booked into a "Priceline room" - one that may be the least desirable for any number of reasons. Occasionally we saw extras that weren't in our reservation (but honored anyways).

What I was getting at is that I've never had a reservation "disappear" on me during transmission, although I've heard of it happening. Once I checked into a hotel when their computer communication systems were down with the corporate host for a few hours. However, they periodically printed up reservation sheets and placed them in a file organized by guest name. I was able to check in, but apparently someone who booked within the past few hours might not be in the file.

I was just suggesting getting on the phone with the front desk and confirming the reservation. Often I'll do it even if I booked with a hotel chain directly. I do it most of the time, and as I noted earlier also when I have a special request.
