We'll be vacationing with DD, DSIL and the grandchildren this year. We're booked in a 2 bedroom lock off.

How do you handle charging things to the room (meals, etc). Can we have two cards set up, one for each "party" (one for DH & I; one for DD & family)???

Thanks

It has been reported that Disney has the ability to assign charges to different credit cards with their new software.

Even if they don't, each room key code can be added up manually and paid for separately the night before check out.

When we were in a grand villa at BLT in early December, we were able to separate the room keys into 3 groups (1 for each family), and have those respective groups linked to each family's credit card. It took a little bit of time for the staff at the front desk to do it, but overall it was pretty easy. It made it much easier for each family to know that their room charges were going to their own credit card. Also keep in mind, that the charge limit is $1500 per card, so it wouldn't take very long if you had multiple families charging to one card.

Have a great trip:)

Great to hear -- I'd really prefer everyone having their own "account" -- just simpler in the long run, and as you say, $1500 with multiple people doesn't always go very far!!

Thanks for your help

... and paid for separately the night before check out.

The "night before check out" being the hugely important part! Even if you go to the front desk at 5am, it'll already be charged. So do it the night before.

With our large extended family group, we've just opted to not have room-charging at all. Easier. But we're not big room-charging people to begin with.

What we have done in the past is write with a sharpie on the card the initials of the person using it and keep a list of number/names as the statement is listed by card #, then we divvy up the bill the night before.

You can have more than one credit card tied to a single room reservation and have the credit cards tied to individual room keys. I will suggest though that prior to checking out, maybe on the night before you check-out or even two days prior to check-out, you ask for a copy of all of the charges to the room. They should be able to print you out a list of all of the charges and to which credit card they went to. We ran into an issue of not all of our friends (who were staying with us in a two bedroom lock-off) charges going to their credit card and ending up on our credit card even though the cards were supposedly associated with the individual room keys.

And even though you didn't mention the DDP if you are doing the DDP with the other family they can't separate the dining credits out per room key so it would be up to everyone in your travel party to keep up with what credits they are using.
