Question About Character Breakfasts

I have a dilemma. My boyfriend really wants to go to a character meal that has Goofy. I figured that either Donald's Breakfastasarous in AK or Goofy's Breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club would work. Personally, I'd rather go to the one at the Beach Club as I haven't been to it since I was in 3rd grade. The problem is that we aren't renting a car and are using Disney transportation. How would we get from Port Orleans Riverside to the Beach Club in the morning? I was thinking that if the breakfast isn't until after Epcot opens, we could just walk through the park. I know that the World Showcase isn't open at 8am like Future World is, and I didnt think you could walk through it before it opens unless you are staying at one of the Epcot hotels. Is this true? And if you can't walk through, if we tell the cast memebers guarding the entrance to the World Showcase that we have ressies at the Beach Club, would they let us through? I really don't want to have to get up extra early and take a bus to somewhere else like the MK and then get on a bus for the Beach Club, seems like too much work. What do you think? Would it be easier to just go to breakfast in the AK?

to do Cape May you could...
a) schedule your breakfast time for after FW epcot opens (I'd say at least an hour to assure enough time for walking/boat) and boat over from gateway. I'm fairly confident that you CAN walk to the gateway before WS opens...read it here on DIS somewhat recently.
b) taxi - MY choice
c) bus to MGM and walk from there

i've heard great reviews on both tusker houe and cape may so I don't think you'd wrong with etiher one!

Go to Chef Mickey's instead: bus to MK and walk back to the Contemporary, very close and very easy. We did it with a 5yo so you two should have no worries. Excellent buffet; huge assortment of food.

Do you only want to do breakfast? If not, you might consider dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. Goofy is definately at that character meal.

I would do Chef Mickey's...but the last time we went there everyone in our party got really sick. Not too hip to go back and possibly relive that!

A taxi from POR to the Beach Club would be under $10 I am betting. Then after breakfast you could hop on a Beach Club bus to wherever you want to go. I love that breakfast, its one of my favorites, the atmosphere is so much less hectic than Chef Mickey's and the food is wonderful. They always have the best fruit. I also agree that going to LTT and seeing Goofy for dinner might be nice, thats a fun one too. But I love the Cape May breakfast!

Thank doesn't sound very good.

We went there for dinner and the only thing I noticed was that Donald smelled really bad!!! He could have used a bird bath!!! You should see the picture him DH took of my DS and myself. The caption could read "hurry up and take the picture, I can only hold my breath for so long!"

As long as FW is open in Epcot you can walk through Canada and UK to get to the back enterance. Before WS opens they have a CM at the bridge to France with a rope up so you can't go any further.
