Question about changing tables in restrooms

This is a "what if" question about the size of changing tables in the restrooms. I am currently trying to potty train my 2 1/2 year old ( not going well... AT ALL) I'm worried that she will not be potty trained by our trip and I will still need to use changing tables in restrooms :/... I find that here at home, she is way too tall (37") for the fold down tables we have around here in stores/restaurants. I usually change her in my vehicle while we're out and about. I have honestly never noticed the changing tables at Disney! Lol... never been with kids! Are they small? Would we need to use the baby centers instead? Just trying to get an idea of how we'll need to go about it. I feel certain we will not be trained(fully trained) by our trip!

Most of the time, the changing table in a Disney restroom is a section of counter. Bring a changing table pad! We use this JJ Cole pad and it is still plenty large enough for my 2.5 year old. Definitely no issue with space.

Yep - it's a long counter. I take disposable chux pads, as anything that has touched that table does not need to go back in the diaper bag - gross. Also, I quickly learned to send my DH to do the diaper changes. There's frequently a line for the changing table in the ladies room, but never in the men's room.

Plus 1 for Disney for having changing tables in the men's bathroom. My brother in law said the worst part of being an "active dad" was the fact most men's bathrooms didn't have a changing table so when he took the littles out on his own he would have to change them in the car or on the floor.

Use the Baby Care Centers if convenient. They have a whole room filled with changing tables, including clean paper sheets. We try to use them when we can b/c it is just a cleaner/calmer experience... plus DHs can be there to assist too (we usually make the trek if it's a #2 diaper).

For quick, non-messy changes that can be done standing up, DH and I will also take our son and stroller into one of the companion restrooms. Most of them don't seem to have changing tables, but the one by the Morocco pavilion in Epcot does (and I am sure there are a few others).

We are in the middle of potty training too, but we just got back from a trip using diapers. I try to avoid the changing tables in the restrooms at all costs with a squirmy toddler, but they are there if you need them. Definitely plan on having a changing pad (or disposable ones)...

Thanks!! Glad to hear it's "counters" and not the plastic flip down kind!
So...

1) hubby gets all diaper duties
2) disposable changing pads
3) use baby centers when convienent

Change her standing up. It takes a bit to get it down, but so much easier.

Plenty big. I also got really good at changing my boys standing up. Diaper babies are MUCH easier at WDW than newly trained kids. I would truly wait till you get back to worry about training.

My youngest will be 2 years and 2 months when we go and I'm planning on waiting to potty train until after Disney.

Pull ups also are really easy to use and you don't have to worry about a changing table.

Change her standing up. It takes a bit to get it down, but so much easier.

#1- yes, especially if we're in pull ups

Pull ups also are really easy to use and you don't have to worry about a changing table.

This. Even if we are "close", I'm still going to at least put pull ups on her! I just find the pull ups "leak" unless I change her often ( which I guess the point of pull ups isn't to hold a lot! Lol) I'm going to have a 1 year old also, so we're going to have lots of diaper stops! Lol

From my understanding pull ups don't hold a lot and actually are meant to be slightly uncomfortable when wet/soiled so kids don't want to go in them they only go that route as a last resort.

I think you're right. I noticed that the absorbent gel inside feels "cool" when wet. Probably not the most comfortable feeling for an unpotty trained child all day at disney

I used to put regular panties on DD when potty training her, then put the pull up over top. I made it very uncomfortable for her. She was 3.5 when we took our first flight and wore a pull up at night only. We made a exception while we were on the plane to California. DH boarded and installed her carseat, DD and I did one last potty break and put the pull up on, then boarded the plane.
