Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Lovely club level gurus- which option would you pick for the thanksgiving/Christmas holidays for me, my adult sister and 2 tweens?
I would vote for the Deluxe CL room at the WL. They sleep 6, and have (2) separate sleeping areas with (2) TVs, and (2) Queen Beds and (1) Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa (maybe for the tweens for their own nighttime space). Plus you would have about $400 in savings or for other activities at WDW (thinking LLMP and/or LLSP).

The Old Faithful Club has nightly build your own Sundae and they rotate the Cobbler selections. The WL is lovely in general, and even better with the Christmas decorations up.

Your still in the MK area with all the other food options a very easy, and a short hop from the WL. Geyser Point is a great choice for a quick lunch or easy dinner without at TS ADR reservation. Also consider the new Wailulu Bar & Grill at the new Poly Island Tower. Again a location that is quick, and easy choice without a TS ADR requirement.

The WL has great transportation choices: boat to MK, and a boat to CR and Ft Wilderness (after 3 PM). Bus option to MK, and the other (3) parks.

I'm doing the Boardwalk for a solo / girlfriends trip. Would you try for a Club Level? Or what rooms at the Boardwalk if not club level?
If you have any resort time planned I would do CL. Having access to Breakfast/coffee/adult beverages are lovely. I did do a girls trip for food and wine and we didn't stay CL. The goal was to eat and drink around the world so I didn't really miss it. Just missed the morning coffee. But we ate and drank a lot at epcot.

Thanks @Dave006! That’s the option I’m leaning towards. Also we tried Wailulu last week and loved it! Will definitely be back!!!

Lovely club level gurus- which option would you pick for the thanksgiving/Christmas holidays for me, my adult sister and 2 tweens? :

1. Deluxe club level room at WL-AP discount so not as good
2. One bedroom CL suite (main bldg) at Grand Floridian (bb discount)
3. One bedroom TPV CL suite/tower club at CR (bb discount and roughly the same price as 2 but both about $400 more per night than 1)

Options 2 and 3 are more $$ but a better discount (bounce back). Just stayed in 2 and absolutely loved it! So maybe try something new? Appreciate your help!!!
Stayed in (2) with my mom in May, getting ready to do (3) with my sister next week. I’ll post for you but am inclined to say (3) due to 2 FULL FREAKIN’ BATHROOMS!

Yes having 2 bathrooms seems like a real bonus!!! I was blown away by how nice that one bedroom was at the grand though even with only an extra half bath. As my kids get older separate space is a good thing!!!

If that's a consideration then it may be hard to beat the CR 1BR Suite. That room type is basically huge compared to your other two options. The bedroom has 2 Queens and a full bathroom, the living room has a pull-out queen and a second full bathroom.

Big Tower Club fan and think they have among the top food programs right now, but while very large, the rooms aren't quite as "nice" as the GF suites (which are newer). Not a major consideration IMHO, but I've been starting to notice more small areas of wear/tear in the CR suites lately, which I attribute both to abusive guests and some questionable materials. And at heart I just don't love the Incredibles theme if I'm honest, but I silently overlook it and just come to the Internet to complain. The small-CL vibe of Tower Club and quality CMs are strong pros.

CR isn't a very "christmasy" resort, WL would win there, followed by GF. We know no Gingerbread display at GF this year, but presumably there will still be some holiday tree/decorations/holiday vibe, but obviously ongoing projects like the lobby renovations and Birdcage Bar.

The WL Deluxe rooms, to me at least, are pretty tiny and cramped relative to your suite alternatives. We're a family of four and feel jammed in there. But WL is a fantastic holiday resort and WL CL is also fantastic as well.

Always so many (often conflicting) pros and cons.

I ebb and flow between sticking to what I know/like and trying something new. Sometimes I get in a "if I'm paying this much, I want to know that I like it/am getting my money's worth" rut which leads to repetition, which can be both good and bad. But then sometimes I feel like something new and end up not necessarily loving it and wishing I had just booked the place I knew I'd like (this is how I personally often feel about GF CL, but that's just me).

But alas, among your options, you're in the beautiful predicament of not being able to make a wrong choice - all would be great in their respective ways.

Hi - if you were planning a girl's trip DCL cruise and wanted to add 1 night on at a deluxe resort with club level - which would you choose? The other 3 ladies that are joining me have never stayed at a deluxe resort and haven't spent a lot of time at WDW. They will impressed and excited by any of them. We are not going into the parks at all. We will have a1 day to spend there, then breakfast the next morning in the lounge, then off to Port Canaveral. We may walk around the area but will spend the day at the resort.

I want something that feels upscale, not crazy congested or busy. I'm not really worried about price point as I'm planning this as a splurge for just a night. I want it to feel special. Also not worried about restaurant options at the resort. It's more about the feel and the atmosphere of both the overall resort and the lounge.

I've stayed CL at a few and have a couple of my favorites but I'm trying to keep my opinion quiet right now. I want to hear other's opinions and which they would choose for themselves in this situation from a fresh perspective. The only one that I'm just not really considering is the Contemporary. For whatever reason the theming there just isn't my cup of tea. But all others are on the table. Thanks for your thoughts!

For a one-nighter I always like a monorail resort - you clearly get the WDW/MK/Vacation Kingdom vibe without having to go to a park, tons of options to walk or monorail around, can watch fireworks that evening to get a little Disney fix, etc.

Reading your post, GF main building would be top of my list, followed by CR Tower Club (I know you said no CR, but Tower Club would have a lot of the attributes you describe). After that it's a step down for me, I'd probably be thinking BWI CL, WL CL, or don't overlook Gran Destino CL, which all have various elements of some of your wish list.

Granted you're asking the wrong crowd if you want logical financial vacation advice. :-)

But my wife would say choose CL, even if it may not make total sense relative to your plans. Not that you really "need" CL in that situation, but just small luxuries - a glass of wine if inclined, water readily available, fresh coffee first thing, maybe a snack. Everyone's perspective is different of course, but we're all so busy/running around/taking care of others in real life...a couple of small moments here or there where you don't have to think about taking care of yourself has a lot of value - for us at least.

OMG, this completely resonated with me and is so true. I think you hit the nail on the head. It is so nice not having to think or make decisions. Even the little things, like not making a pot of coffee. It's just there for you. Or having someone bring you a glass of wine.

On a different note, I am now missing CL lol. We decided (well my friend really, she cares for her disabled sister so based it on when she has care for her) on the Halloween party. It's a quick 2 night trip in September. We rented points and are staying at Saratoga Springs. It will be a different trip for sure, but will be park heavy. MNSSHP on arrival day and food and wine the next. Then home the next morning. Depending on what time we arrive and how we feel we may add a park ticket before the party. I know I will miss the morning coffee but we won't really be around the hotel much.

You may want to keep your eyes peeled for an outer building 1BR suite at GF - they have 2 full bathrooms and look pretty amazing!

I splurge on CL often when solo. I work my tail off, so even though it’s not ever going to be “worth it” from a cost standpoint, it is wonderful to indulge myself if I can swing it. We have one life, right? I gad a great few solo days at BWI CL back in May, the CMs were all lovely to me.

Thank you soo much! Based on the videos I’ve seen the WL deluxe rooms seem underwhelming and the trek to the lounge from another floor is another huge negative to me. I’m also know I’m in the minority but I don’t love the transportation there. I’d much prefer a monorail resort for convenience to MK. However, it’s $1100 vs $1500 for the other options which is holding me back. Those huge balconies at CR seem very nice however and are calling me! I’d love to sit and watch the fireworks there with a glass of wine!!

How would you compare the food at CR and WL to GF? We just stayed at GF and the food was outstanding. I also loved the lounge there.

We also stayed at YC and BWI- YC staff was outstanding but the food- in particular the seafood options there were not good IMO. BWI food was slightly better but I could never find a seat in the lounge which was frustrating.

Like you- if I’m paying a lot of $ I want to make sure I’m going somewhere that I know I’ll like! Thanks again for everyone’s advice!
