First of all - you racers are amazing! I've looked at all the pics and everyone looks so happy. Cold, but happy. You all had such courage and determination. :worship: I hope I can follow your examples in March for the Princess.

I'm wondering about what everyone does with their "supplies" for the race. I couldn't tell in the pictures. I know some people carry their phones and a camera and maybe water. What do you put those in? And what else do you carry with you?

disney mommy I use a Nathan Speedbelt w/ 2 bottles for training and racing. It has a small pocket that I use to store gels and--when on the road training--my drivers license and insurance card! When I'm racing, I'll throw car keys in it.

Others here will chime in and tell you about their Spibelts and FuelBelts and other items--there a lots of products to use. The key is to find something you are comfortable running with and will meet your specific needs. Mine works for me because I don't run with phones or cameras. It was reasonably okay for the marathon on Sunday, although I would have liked to have had more pocket space (for gels) and perhaps the 4-bottle version for training.

You should be able to find these products at a local running store or sporting goods store. Good luck finding the one that works for you.

I wore my Spibelt and in it was chapstick, tissues, my post race bag to hold the water/food after the race (a grocery bag rolled up), and my camera. Looped on the outside of the belt were two Clif Shots. In the pocket of my running skirt I had some cash (in a tiny ziploc bag), a credit card, my ID and my room key.

There are plenty of water stops so I didn't need to carry my own.

I wore my spibelt and in it had tissues, clif bars and clif blocks. I carry my camera in one hand and a water bottle in the other. The water bottle has a starp that my hand goes through and also a zippered pocket where I carry money, room key and id.

I've though about not carrying the bottle, but I remember one year when it was so warm, the later stations ran out of water/cups. I was so happy to still have some water in my bottle at that point.

I normally carry a water belt with one big bottle in it - like a 16 oz bottle. It has a pouch that can hold my gels, cut strips of moleskin and it has a pocket flap that I can put my cell phone in. I ended up getting a medium sized bag I could add on to my belt - I got this with the intention of shoving my gloves in there if I needed to take them off. I ended up putting my sunglasses in there, some tissues and some tylenol - never needed to take my gloves off Saturday and never needed the sunglasses. I also got a Spibelt and the toggles to attach my race number to. In the Spibelt I put my cell phone and it worked out good there - I was able to feel it if it went off - I got the race tracker and it was a relief to get the first texts both days to know my chip was actually working. It also helped to meet up with my sister, my nieces and my DH in the parking lot of AK and to find them right before the finish line and then again to find them at the end.

I didn't want to run with a belt since there are plenty of waterstops. I held my camera in my hand most of the way and I have an arm band for my iphone but my husband ended up putting it in his pocket. I stuck tissue in the band of my running skirt, and that was it! Everything worked out fine! I checked my bag that had my room key, chap stick, extra shirt and dry socks etc. good luck
