question about Canons 40 D

My 40D will be here today. I was just curious (and to lazy to look it up) but will the kit lens from my old Rebel (18-55 mm EFS) work on the 40D?
if not, not big deal because I have other lenses, but I was wondering about this particular lens. thanks!

I'll probably end up selling it with the Rebel, but I was wondering if it would work in case I wanted to use it.

Thanks, that photo was taken with the 40D! I also had this lens but sold it with my original 300D, its a nice little lens, but I replaced it with the 17-40. Did your camera arrive yet?

Congrats on your new 40D
Make sure you try it fully when you get it. I had probs with 2 of them. Ended up returning one kit, next kit I had to send the camera to Canon to get the front focusing issue fixed.

Other than that its been a great camera

wow, it sure is nice. I think I'm really going to like this big 3 inch screen.

No ducks, but I have taken a few of my cats.

Does anyone know which shutter release switch I need for the 40D? I want the wired one. I had one with the Rebel but it won't work.
I need to get one ordered in time for the 4th of July fireworks. TIA!
