Question about cancelling reservation and points

I borrowed points for trips in August and November. My UY is December. In the meantime I won an all expense paid trip to WDW, that I have to take before Jan 1st. If I decide to cancel one of my ressies to take the free trip, when would my points have to be used by?

Borrowed points will expire at the end of the use year into which they were borrowed. So if you borrowed them into the Dec 2012 UY, they expire on November 30, 2013.

November 30th is the last day in your 2012 UY, so the points that can't be banked would need to be used by then.

You have APs, right? Or can you convert the tickets you won (you did win park admission, too, right?) to APs. As long as they aren't complimentary tickets (they will say no upgrades).

The trip included 6 nights at a value resort. We have APs, so I asked if we could upgrade to a suite at AoA, since we don't need the 7 day hopper. My boys are 8 and 10 and they really want the Cars suite.

Do the tickets expire? Could you use them to upgrade to your next AP?

The trip had to be set up through a specific leave agent and the 7 day hopper could only be used for the trip that was being booked. I asked her if we could upgrade from a value and she said since I had APs, she could use the AP discount to book the room. She called me the other day to tell me that she booked us in a Royal Guest Room River view at POR. I am very excited!!!
