Question about buying through resale?

If I were to buy a small contract at SSR...say 50 points to start with a March Use Year, will it be hard to buy an add-on from disney at SSR with the same Use Year? What are the advantages of having the same Use Year? Will I have problems booking a reservation with all my points if I had 2 different Use Years at the same resort? I want 100 points eventually, enough to stay 5 nights at SSR in a 1 bedroom during the summer (or whatever off-season is). Right now I dont mind a studio, and its really not worth it for us to stay at a 1 BR right now anyways since we dont like to cook during vacation. Oh , just out of curiousity, if you buy resale, does Disney still let you finance Annual Dues. It wouldn't be a pbbly for me to pay annual dues on 100 points, but if I were to add on down the line, it would be nice to have that option.

Once you're in the system, it doesn't matter if you bought resale or via Disney -- all owners get treated the same.

I bought resale and am paying my annual dues monthly.

If you add-on through Disney, you'll only be able to get the same use year. You may have to wait for points with that use year to be available before you can purchase them -- though if they're still selling SSR at the time, this probably won't be an issue.

If you buy another contract through resale, it would remain just that -- another contract. It would have and retain it's own use year.

If all of your points are for the same resort (whether purcahsed as an add-on or as a separate contract), you shouldn't have any difficulty using all the points to make a reservation, as long as you had the points available for when you're traveling.

The interesting part would come into play if you had to cancel a trip. That's when use year really plays a part (many other threads on this topic).

Checking all the site that I had of different DVC resellers, I only saw one 50 point SSR contract currently available (at GMAC).

The best thing would probably be to contact one of the resellers and letting them know what you want and get on a waiting list. Those small contracts may go before they ever get listed.

Personally, I think it will be difficult finding a small contract for SSR, as that would have only been bought as an add-on and with SSR being such a new resort, I don't see many people who bought an add-on selling it already.
