Hey everyone. So I am trying to make this the BEST trip possible for my husband so that he comes home with :goodvibes from Disneyland and wants to go back again...LOTS! muhahaha! Anyway, my grandma is buying us tickets this time (she lives in Socal, so she gets the special deal) I just called guest services to see if we can add on a day for the hubs and I so that we can have a date night on April 30th at Disney (really just a few hours) and apparently, since we are not socal residents ourselves, it would cost us the difference between the socal and a regular 4-day, which is like $108 EACH! YIKES! I did do a little search on ebay and the cheapest ticket you can get there for a 1 days park hopper is like $60, s still $120...MUCH differnt than the $15-$20 people talk about it costing to add on a day! I guess what I am wondering is, has anyone ever bought or borrowed a ticket from someone who is leaving the park and done with their ticket?? We only need them for 2-3 hours like I said, so it just seems insane to spend so much money for such a small amount of time! So has anyone ever done this to get a little extra magic for their spouse? Or is this even ok?? I assume it would be sort of the same thing as those people you meet on CL for tickets, right? You use them for however many days and then return them and someone else uses them?? Not sure. Any insight would be sooo helpful! Just trying to make this so special for the hubby! :lovestruc Thanks everyone!

1. Tickets are nontransferrable. Disney has been cracking down on these ebay schemes. They can and will confiscate shared tickets and escort you off property if caught.

2. Can grandma get you a longer SoCal ticket? If not, it'd be cheaper to buy a 1 day/1park ticket than upgrading the SoCal one.

3. The $15-$20 adding on a day (or less) is on non discounted tickets (except for pre-purhcase discounts in some cases). You pay the difference between what you paid and what you want. Also the more days you have on your ticket, the cheaper it is to add days. Once you get to 5 or 6 days its only $5/day after that.

What you are talking about is illegal and a great way to get yourself forcibly removed from Disney property. As far as I know, nobody can add days to the 3-day SoCal tickets. If you want the fourth day, you'll need to pay the same prices as everyone else.

Have you considered a DTD date night instead?

Oh yikes! LOL I didn't know it was illegal!! So all these CL/Ebay people that sell them that way are doing it illegally then?? wow. I feel kind of stupid now....and slightly embarrassed. hehe We had actually considered buying them through something like that for the discount too before we found out my Gma wanted to buy them for us! FREE is even better!! HA!

Yea, 3 days is all you can do for the Socal, so it is actually cheaper to just buy a 1 day park hopper each then, but still, something like $140 is still too much to justify spending for a couple hours. boo. :( Oh well.

Yea, I have been considering a DTD date night too. Maybe a nice alone meal and goodies at Marcelines! :lovestruc Thought about Knotts too, but I am SO not a crazy rollercoater girl!! Screamin just about killed me the one time I did it! :scared1: HA!

Thanks everyone for the knowledge! :thumbsup2
