Question about booking the trip..

Looking to travel to WDW June 23-30 and if staying on property then looking to book at AKL.

My question is -- when looking to book through the Disney site, I can get the gift card for booking AKL ... HOWEVER ... if I book the identical trip through Expedia I am saving a substantial amount more, about double the value of the gift card.

It seems like a no-brainer to me to book AKL through Expedia ... am I missing something? This is our very first trip and I'm trying my best to be an informed consumer

Disney also has a room discount like 35-40% off deluxes during that time! Thats prob. what Expidia is quoting.

With Expedia, are tickets included in your quoted price? The gift card offer requires the purchase of tickets. Make sure you're comparing apples with apples.

No, the Expedia price does NOT include MYW tickets.

Ok, totally green here -- but LOVING that price of ~2500 (which was approx the same as Expedia). How in the world do I book that ... is there codes I should be using? I am definitely not doing something right - when I did a search I got a significantly higher price.

When you go into the Disney site, you have to go into special offers to apply it to your ressie - if you just book a regular package, it will come up regular price.

Also make sure you are putting in the room you want, I know when I get a quote they automatically put me in the most expensive room type. You can easily change the room type they will show all the avaliable rooms either above or below whatever they automatically picked for you.
