Good morning everyone! I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. My family and I are planning our next trip for April 04. In the past we have always booked package deals from a travel agent and we usually stay at the value resorts. I see on here that most everyone books everything seperatly. Where do you start when you want to do this? Do you book your room first and do you call the resort directly? Then do you buy your passes at the gates or do you preorder them. How much do you actually save by doing it this way? We would like to stay at POR this time and are thinking about going for 10 days but it all depends on the cost, if we could get a cheap rate that would be great! Thanks in advance Have a wonderful day!!

I am sure there are lots of experts out here who will give you great advice. My advice would be to check out the website http://www.mousesavers.com which explains about your very question. That was where I got started.

this year we are around $1000 cheaper and we are paying for our son this time! I booked POR and just checking for different rates and changed them when they got cheaper, the tickets (we only need 4-day) I purchased at the Disney Store since they were they same price with no shipping, but AAA also has them and so does a few others. The transportation from the airport to the hotel is sometimes cheaper by taxi than Mears Shuttle.

The first trip we had a package that included two wishes a day. At the end we really felt that we wasted our money and time because all we did was go from one PS to another because we wanted to get the most bang form bucks.

If you like a bagain shop then plan each thing on it's own..but if you like it done and not have to check codes and call disney a few times (and have a few extra$$) then go for the package.

Have fun planning!

If you are going to the parks 10 days, then you might check into buying annual passes. You could also work in another trip before they expire next year.

As others have mentioned, book your room and then check this site and www.mousesavers.com for room discounts.
When a discount shows-up that applies to you, get on the phone to CRO and change your room reservation to that discount.

Pigletpooh123, please check your e-mail.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I'll have lots of fun planning but it looks like I have my work cut out for me! Thanks again!

Keep in mind that mid-Feb throught the end of April is peak season. Discounts are hard to come by, even though we saw some this year. I would plan to go in value or regular season to avoid spring break crowds and high rates.
