Hi

We are considering a trip to California later this year and I am almost at my 7 month window.

I have a march use year and we plan to go end of September. If I book a stay and then we decide not to go, can I cancel (before the 31 day mark) and then bank my points as normal?

I am sure this is fine but my boyfriend questioned my logic so I just want to double check :)

Thanks!

Yes, you could bank if the points used for trip are March 2012 use year points, which can be banked anytime on or before Oct 31, 2012. Thus if you cancel 31 or more days out, which for late Sep trip would be sometime in Aug, you could bank at that time.

As long as none of your points that you plan to use were banked or borrowed your plan will work.

I have 4 banked points which I would lose but other than that they are all March 2012 use year.

Thanks for confirming that my logic was correct. I

want to have the reservation so that if we can afford to go I don't miss out on the accommodation....so can now go ahead and reserve once my dates comes up :)
