question about booking an intimate

Hello, all.

This is SUCH a great forum. I can't begin to say how many of my questions have been answered by you guys. I've been reading the message board for a while now, but this is my first post. Hello.

My fiance and I are planning to have an intimate wedding at the wedding pavilion on Monday, January 22nd, 2007, but we haven't confirmed the date yet. I spoke with Tanis Armstrong when we got back from our consultation with Diane Mahoney-Brown in late January, hoping to have them tentatively set aside the date, but Tanis said that they could only do that for custom weddings; those having intimate weddings have to wait until 8 months out before they can set aside a date.

There are lots of intimate brides on here that are more than 8 months out and have their date already. Can someone please let me know what the policy is? I don't want our chances of getting the date we want to slip by!

Hi Linda, we are in the same boat you are. For the WP you must wait until April 22,2006 to get a confirmed date and time for January 22,2007. I know it stinks

I know that many other brides on this forum have questioned this policy as well. I am intimate, however I was able to set my date one year from the date we were hoping for (December 21, 2006). I know some of the others on here have not been able to do so, they were told they would have to wait for the 8 month mark... Maybe my EM was so helpful because DF and I were NOT flexible on the date AT ALL! DF and I are both teachers, therefore we had to plan the date based on when the winter break falls.

Sorry you weren't able to book yet. I hope things work out and you are able to get the date you want. I am sending some pixie dust your way.

I'm so glad you got your date! I'm sure you got it b/c you are getting married in 2006. I've had 2 EMs so far b/c of this issue and both told me that the 8 month policy is for anyone in 07

Is this 8 month policy ONLY for the WP or does this count for any site for an intimate wedding??

Right now it's only for the WP.

I managed to book our WP intimate at the 1 year mark - but was only able to do so if our Hotel was booked.

I was told several weeks ago that if you are having your intimate at the wp in 2006 you may go ahead and book it now as long as you have your hotel booked. But if you want a 2007 event you must wait for the 8 month mark because that is going to be the rule for 2007.
She also told me that there are still changes being made to intimate packages. But the only thing she knew for sure was about the photography.

No, since you are 2007 you will have to wait until Feb of 07 to get the Wedding Pavillion. However, if you just want one of the other locations such as Seabreeze or Sunset point you can book in October

Unfortunately, no. Because your wedding date falls in the 07 calendar year. You will have to wait for the 8 month mark. But that doesn't mean you can't start talking to a SM at that time...
