Question about booking a trip in 2013

Hi, all!

I have been trying to plan a huge trip for my extended family.

I am suddenly having either a brainfart, or am justifiably worried...

I just logged in to bank my 2012 points. I did so successfully. We are trying to get a Grand Villa at OKW Nov 23-30, 2014. I have an AUG use year. Will I be able to use my 2012, 2013, and borrow from my 2014 points in order to make this reservation happen at the 11 month window?

An October 2014 trip falls in your Aug 2014 UY. That means you can use banked Aug 2013 points, borrowed Aug 2015 points and current year Aug 2014 points. Your banked Oct 2012 points expire on Sept 30, 2014.

No, November 2014 is in your August 2014 use year. You could use banked 2013 points, current 2014 points and borrowed 2015 points.

Which year is your trip? Your title says 2013, but your post says 2014. That makes a big difference!

Thank you! I totally typo'd that one as I MEANT 2013, not 2014, but I backwards engineered it and appreciate you alleviating my fears. I got freaky nervous as I banked my points and then logged into the book a reservation site (for grins and giggles as I realize I am still outside of my 11 month window), and could only see 2012 and 2013 points to be used.

I guess this begs another question...will I be able to do this in the website, or will I need to call MS?

Yes, you will able to book online. Once you have the room and go to the next screen, if you have to borrow points, it will show up there and you will be able to borrow what you need.

The side bar of online booking only shows current UY and next UY, but you have access to all that would be available to cover the trip at time of booking.

That answers my question, too. I am trying to do the same thing next Summer - and I looked at the booking website and didn't know how to borrow. Now I see they have the points available for you to use right there.

My other question kind of along those lines is that I played a little and put in 10 people and then chose the resort and studio - I want 3 studios. At what point in the booking process will the system give you access to the 3 studios?

If you book online, you would have to book each one separately with a different name for each lead guest. And you could wind up booking two and a third isn't available. But if you book on the phone, you should be able to book three at once.
