Question about BOG

This is going to sound like a really strange question, but I figures you guys were the best to ask.

My DD really wants to see inside BOG, even if we can't eat there. So far I haven't been able to get a reservation, though I will continue to be persistent My question is, would it be possible for us to go look around even if we don't have a reservation?

I normally wouldn't even think to ask, but just found out DD has Stargadt Disease which means she is losing her vision and she wants to see it before she can't see anymore.

From what I understand, they used to let people tour BOG before it opened for lunch. I haven't heard of them doing that since BOG opened for breakfast as well, as there really isn't a time that no one is in there eating now. The only way that you will be able to go in is with a reservation, unless you receive some MAJOR pixie dust.

I would talk to the cast member at the front tell them about your daughter DX and see what they can do. you have a much better chance of getting some pixie dust of the CM know what is going on, but as the PP said they normally do not do this

If I were in your shoes, I would quietly make a reservation for BOG. You don't have to tell your daughter anything other than you have an "appointment" to see inside.

Then, let a CM know that you have a reservation, but only so she can see around; you don't want to eat or order food.

Can anyone else think of a reason that might not work?

I would assume you would likely be charged the $10 per person fee if you do not actually keep the adr and eat there.

The OP also said they can't get a reservation, otherwise they would eat there.

OP-this is something not normally done. I don't know if you could get someone to let you in or not.

It sounds like their issue is that they are not able so far to get a reservation, not that they don't want to eat there.

A couple of options I can think of -
- keep trying, even up to the day you are going to the park. People often make reservations and then cancel them when they change plans. So things do open up.

- try different times and different numbers of people. They may not have a time for your whole group, but may have a time for just 2 of you.

- if you are staying at a WDW resort, check with the Concierge to see if they can help. Tell them your reason and that you don't care whether you get reservations or not - that your daughter just wants to see it and why.

- Go to Guest Relations on the day you are in MK and tell them your story. They may be able to do something to find a reservation or just get you in to look around. If they can't help you (I'm not sure if reservations for BOG are handled at Guest Relations or only at the restaurant).
If all else fails, go to the reservation check in desk at BOG and see if they can help you.

I have heard of where people have gotten several reservations for 1 person close together. It wouldn't be a problem once inside because you seat yourself so you could still sit together.

That would only work for lunch. The general line that I see is no. They don't allow people in to tour without a reservation. However, I'd ask anyhow. The worst they can say is no.

We couldnt get reservations for our party of 4. Kept checking back everyday, while we were there a spot opened up for the next day

1) Nope.
2) You need a ressie (FP or ADR) to enter.
. . . for lunch or breakfast, you can't get in until you order and pay for the food.
. . . if you wait in line 45-50 minutes prior to lunch opening, sometimes they used to let a few look inside
. . . but, with the advent of breakfast, they stopped this practice
3) If they made exceptions for lurkers, they would be mobbed with folks who just want to look around.
. . . people would give all sorts of excuses to gain entry
. . . vaild or not
4) It would get crowded and possibly unsafe with all the folks walking around and taking photos.
5) Let alone annoying to paying guests.

Im assuming that they no longer do walk ups????? We did just that last year on a fairly busy day and waited like 20-30minutes a little before 11:00 AM. I would continue to check all three meals, a few times a day and you may get lucky. If that does not work, I would try talking to someone in guest services. WDW makes so much magic happen that they just might do it for you.

Thank you all for your help! We still have 3 months so I'm going to keep trying to get a ressie. Since my DD is older, she definately understands why they won't let people in without a reservation so even though she will be disappointed if we can't eat there, she will deal with it. I'll keep checking!

Have you tried calling 407-WDW-DINE? Rather than waiting around and trying online, call up and explain the situation, and sometimes they can do sprinkle some pixie dust, particularly as you're willing to pay for the privilege. Talking to a human at WDW seems to always do wonders for me!

I don't think that anyone in dining can create a reservation that isn't available online. I would agree with talking with an actual human once at a park if they are unable to secure a reservation, but until they are actually there, they are only dealing with call center reps that will probably be unable to help much.
