just read on another site that "Conversion of the previous Disney Vacation Club sales center into 19 additional villa–style accommodations through June" will be done before I go in October.

Does this mean that if I am on a waitlist for a 2 bedroom, I will more than likely get it??

Also, if i already have a 1 bedroom and studio booked, why can't they convert it automatically to a 2 bedroom since that is what's being booked anyways?? They are both preferred view so I just don't understand?? Can someone explain it to me?

It's possible they already had availability for these new rooms in the system, so it may not help your waitlist.

Regarding the 1 bedroom and studio, BWV has many dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms, so it's possible your current reservation is not for lockoffs, so it can't be converted to a 2 bedroom.

but if they don't actually assign rooms this early then what's the difference now?? Unless they have completely booked all the 2 bedrooms??

Not necessarily. If the "completed date" is firm, it is very possible that the units are already booked for your dates.

As you probably know, all of the 2 bedroom units at BWV are lock offs. A certain proportion of them are rented as a 1 bedroom and a studio. I dont' think they do any "converting" back and forth once there are waitlists in place.

To change your reservation to a 2 bedroom, you would essentially be cancelling the reservations for the 1 bedroom and the studio and making a new reservation for a 2 bedroom. If there are members on the waitlist for a 1 bedroom and a studio, those rooms would go to them if you cancel.

If DVC did convert the two units to a 2 bedroom, it wouldn't necessarily go to you if there were others on the waitlist ahead of you for a 2 bedroom.

I hope your waitlist comes through. I know it's hard to wait.

Best wishes -

They actually assign rooms as dedicated or lockoff when the reservations are made. They have to in order to keep track of how many lockoffs can be reserved as 2 bedrooms and how many they can split off into 1 bedrooms & studios. Since BWV has so many dedicated 1 bedrooms & studios, they book those first before splitting the lockoffs. It's possible all the lockoffs were gone when you made your reservation. My bet is your reservation is for dedicated rooms.

well, I was told that I was waitlisted for a 2 bedroom but stil have the old reservations? True?? No matter what, we still have reservations right?

i did call the other day and they had my 2 reservations but told me I was waiting for a 2 bedroom.
