Question about blocking rooms for guests.

My DF and I are staying at the POFQ during our wedding and originally I was just going to let my guests take care of their own hotels, but I thought it'd be much nicer if everyone was at one central location... thing is, I want to make this as affordable for everyone as possible...

does anyone know if I can get a discount on rooms if I block them for a group.. say like ten rooms? and I'm doing an intimate wedding btw.

I called disney and asked and the woman I talked to on the phone said no, but then my mother called later and asked and told them I was getting married there and that's why we needed to block the rooms and my mom was told yes, we could get a discount, and that we needed to do it through our wedding coordinator.

now I'm all confused.

I'm going to call juliana tomorrow, but I know she's not the easiest to get in touch with over the phone.. so I just kinda wanted to know if discounted rooms were possible so I could start telling my guests that I'm blocking the rooms for them.

I'm pretty sure the only way you get a discount blocking rooms through DFTW is if you're having a custom (cuz they require you to block rooms).

The best way for Intimates to save on accomodations is to use an AP or AAA discount, or one of the codes you find on sites like www.mousesavers.com. You may even get a better deal - I think I read that customs only get a 10-15% discount on rooms anyway.

Does any one know how much of a discount we would be looking at? What about renting reservations at one of the DVC resorts?
