Question about blankets on beds

I started a thread just like this last year and it's heading down the same path. I'm going to start germophobe anonymous. :)

Before my kids entered the hotel room, I scurried around and Clorox Wiped everything down (headboard, table, chairs, remote, etc...). I also did a quick clean of the bathroom and sinks with Lysol. I know that's a disgusting thought for us germophobes. We brought blankets and sheets, but only used our blankets because the Disney sheets smelled of bleach so I knew they were clean. :thumbsup2 The comforter sat in the corner the entire trip.

I also "GASP" carried Purell in our carriage and they washed their hands frequently in the parks. Our kids came home healthy.

I agree 100%!!! I am definately calling mousekeeping and asking for new blankets and spreads!!!

1) I gotta laugh at this.
2) Sure, it sounds good.
3) But, many/most of the spreads in storage are not cleaned before storing.
4) They are simply folded and put on the wire rack.
5) Although some might have been cleaned, you, nor they, know which ones.
6) I have seen some delivered, then unfolded with major stains.

NOTE: Blankets and spreads that go back to housekeeping because of a "protein spill" do get cleaned,. But, again, you don't know which ones of those on the rack are the cleaned ones.

NOTE2: For you germaphobics: Would you lick the concrete in MK after everyone walks on it? Would you rub your nose or eyes after touching other people who just went to the potty? Of course you do! People entering their room do not take off their shoes. Of course, you later walk barefoot and touch your feet. Other people who use the potty and don't wash their hands (in the parks or in the room) touch the lamp, the door knobs, the bed posts, the chair arms, the closet hangers, the drawer handles. Of course, you also touch these. Hate to say it, but ANYWHERE you go you are exposed to major germs.

actually much worse for me is the carpeting...
i always remove the bedspread from the bed, and try to always stay in hotel that double sheets the blanket....
but i can't do anything about the carpet....
for some reason i am totally grossed out by the carpeting on the floor..

every now and then, i'm in a hotel that has stone or marble floors, instead of carpeting and i'm in 7th heaven....it's much easier to clean a floor like that, than carpeting..

I dont walk barefoot on the hotel room floor either, that to me is more disgusting than touching hte remote. Its flip flops al the time. Iw ont even subject my socks to touching that floor..lol
