I'm sure this has been posted here a million times so I apologize ahead of time...but do you take a copy of your DC's birth certificate with you to WDW and if so do you carry it with you at all times??? Just wondering.

:thanks:

I did when my dd was 2. I did pull it out once at the gate, and in 2 different restaurants. HTH.

BTW, I ordered the birth certificate card that our county offers so I didn't have to carry the paper one.

I don't think it's necessary unless you feel that you might be challenged because you have a two year old that could be mistaken for a 3-yr old, or a 9 yr old that looks older than 10. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it, honestly.

Also, from what I've read here, usually the cm's will ask children how old they are so if you have a two year old that loves to say "three" when asked this question definitely take along a copy of the certificate.

hth!

p.s. My now 3-yr is tall for his age and we were questioned a few times while at Disneyland last year but no one ever required we show them any proof. :)

DH and I just talked about this today! I BELIEVE that if you are challenged about DC's age and don't have any ID, you can be forced to buy a ticket for DC. However, if you can produce proof of age, you can bring that and your ticket receipt to a ticket agent and get a refund (later). Maybe others can add to this, but it seems I have read that somewhere on these boards...

I am with you though. DS is only 16 mos, but very large. I don't think we'll get too crazy yet, but in a year we will probably carry a copy of his b/c with us just in case.

Good luck!

I do. My older dd was a very big 2 year old (and a late talker too), and my younger dd is one of those 2 year olds who loves to say that she is 3. :cloud9:

I never have. I took my DD when she was 2 1/2 and in 9 days only one CM asked her age. She spoke in sentences at 18 months and by 2 1/2 she was extremely verbal  and she said 2! No problems!

Our health insurance cards list the birthdates of our kids, and is already in my wallet. I figured if I absolutely needed to prove their birthdate I could do so with it.

Personally, I think it's quite "big brother-ish" to have to carry your kids' birth certificates around and I wouldn't do it just on principle.

I wondered the smae thing. we are going 3 months before my tall little man turns 3. He is bigger then some 4 year olds and had a mature look to him too. He is already 38 inches tall and not even 2 1/2 yet! He is a big eater though and we will need to get him his own meals (my dh uses it as an excuse to order 2 adult meals that he wants because it is "not too much more" and then they share the 2nd meal between them and dh gets to get a second thing on the menu when he can't make up his mind.

Will a copy work? or do you need to go as far as having it noterized? I have never seen the cads but maybe we have them too...

My 2 year old would always tell people he was 15 when asked. Certainly cast members know kids say whatever pops into their heads.

Certainly even without a birth certificate if the child says they are older than 3 and the parent says different certainly they would believe the parent. I mean come on

What about an 8 yo who looks 10? Does anyone have trouble at this age? My 10 yo is taller than most 13yo's but we are paying full price for him.

My youngest will be almost 3 by a couple weeks while we are on vacation. He is big for his age also, but I seriously doubt they will give you the third over on that. But I can see a 4 or 5 year old trying to pass for a 2 year old..

We had a DD9 that I thought looked 10 but nobody ever questioned it. As a matter of fact, DD11 was charged for a child at Crystal Palace. We told the guy and he said not to worry about it. She ate less than the DD9. I think it is more the 4 yr old trying to pass as 2. If you are worried, best to be safer than sorrier. LOVE YA SIL.

Thanks for all your help...I wish our state had those birth certificate cards! What a great thing to have! Unfortunately our insurance cards don't list DOB's...that would have been great also! I don't think my DD will look over 3 by the time we go (she'll only be 14 mo)...but I will bring copies just the same...more to remember *sigh*

:thanks:
