Just wondering if the restrooms or baby centers have child sized toilets or sinks? I didn't notice 2 yrs. ago because my DD was still in diapers. When we go this May, she will be using the restrooms because she is fully potty trained. I dread the idea of her using a public toilet 10 times a day for a whole week! I don't know if I should bring her folding portable potty seat.
I don't know what is worse- having her touch the actual toilet or putting the potty seat over the toilet and then putting that back in my diaper bag:scared:
Any help on the whole process with preschoolers?

I haven't seen any childsize toilets or sinks but a lot of bathrooms do have the automatic "flusher's" with the sensors and my DD who is 3 is terrified of those toilets and wouldn't use them. Our solution, take a pack of small sticky notes and leave them in your pocket and when you go to use the restroom just stick one over the sensor. It works great. I now never leave home without sticky notes because if we go into a restroom with that type of toilet, she right away asks if I have the sticky notes and if I don't she won't go. Good luck and enjoy your trip with no diapers!

I think I read somewhere that the baby centers have child size toilets.

The child center at Hollywood Studios does have a tiny child size toilet. I went to the Epcot child center, which was a lot larger than the DHS's, but I don't recall there being a tiny toilet there.:confused3

I would pack some sanitizing wipes to use on the toilet seats rather than lug around a portable potty. There are several brands, like Clorox and I think Lysol that will kill any ickies.

I've also started seeing travel-size sanitizing spray - I think either Lysol or Clorox makes it. I think that would be easier than the wipes, because you could avoid touching anything until after you spray it.

Stuff like this makes me happy I've got boys - no need to sit unless it's 'game time', lol.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Me too!

I thought I remember seeing shorter sinks in some of the restrooms - but maybe they were handicapped accessible and just seemed to be kid-sized?

Definitely child size sinks in all the park restrooms, my DD was very keen on them! Can't remember seeing child size toilets though.

When my DD was smaller, I kept my folding potty seat in a gallon-sized ziptop bag to protect the rest of my bag from toilet seat yuck. Then after we got home, I'd wipe it down with Clorox wipes and let it air dry before putting it back in my bag. You could easily do this on vacation.

Bring travel packs of wet wipes and let her use the child sinks. Then use the child bathrooms when they are there. It is tricky :confused3

Please, Please, Please do not use Colorox spray or wipes in the stalls. It can be life threatening to someone with allergies/chemical sensitivites. According to WDW they are even recommending guests use baby wipes instead of Clorox.

If WDW wants people using baby wipes instead of Clorox, they need to have a CM stationed at every bathroom making sure things are clean.

Actually, we spend a lot of time at WDW. We see CM's in the bathrooms cleaning all the time.

Thanks for the info. Do you remember if they have the disposable toilet seat covers in the stalls- in case I don't bring a potty seat??

This is going to be our first trip to WDW so I can't speak to the bathroom situation. But we did the potty seat over the toilet with our first DD since she was terrified of big toilets. I got one of the folding ones that folded into 4th's and then was able to slide it into a zip lock baggie (can't remember either the quart or gallon size) then just slip the baggie back into my diaper bag. And since I was no longer using a changing pad I kept the toilet seat baggie in the back slip pocket where the changing pad used to be. It kept it away from any snacks etc that I was carrying in the main part of the bag.

Here is one similar to the one we had http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=150774&cmSource=Search they also have a padded one which we did use but it takes up more room http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=427760&cmSource=Search

:thumbsup2 Yes in about 90% of the bathrooms at WDW they have those paper disposable toilet seat covers. I do not have any small children, just DGC, but love the disposable seat covers for myself. This is just another thing I  about Disney...go figure;)

I buy the potty toppers at Babies R Us because they have a plastic layer and then a paper type of layer. They also have stickers so they stay in place. I used to put the folding potty ring on top of a potty topper when my dd didn't like the big toilets, but I skip it now. They didn't always cover every part of the toilet at Disney, but they always have the paper ones in the bathrooms at Disney, so I would just put one of those on top to keep the toilet fully covered for her. Now, if I can just figure out what we will do when she hits preschool and has to go potty without me around.

I have the potty topper also...
Walmart just started selling it in a
bunch of different character Patterns too.

I plan to take a fold up seat bc my DD is only 24 months and will only potty on a potty seat. I'll probably just throw it away when we are done at Disney.

Am I the only one who has my DD stand on public toilets? She stands on them and squats over it.
I hate the idea of her sitting on public toilets- and I don't think those thin little paper liners do much.
