question about bathrooms in the parks...

For the most part Disney restrooms are clean until the people afraid of germs come along and pee on the seat....... lol thanks for spreading your germs by the way :) hehe sorry its a pet peeve of mine because i have a child who has to go a hundred times a day lol no matter where we are!

i think most of the baby areas have smaller potties!

Good point about the allergies issue with chemicals! Some of those smells can be so overpowering if you have asthma!

No kidding. The germphobics are doing more to spread germs than to contain them. Now we have the toilet seat standers to add on to the hoverers and foot flushers.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Might as well go to the MD before go at this point and have the nurse insert a urinary catheter.

Seriously, how many folks are really getting diseases from bathrooms that aren't managed by simple handwashing? Are people really getting diseases from sitting on the toilet seat? You are more endanger from the handles and door knobs, and simple handwashing is more than ample.

Wow, I hope you are also showing her how to clean up the mess she makes by putting her dirty shoes on the toilet seat.

OP--Why on earth do you want to cart a toilet seat around? Is it the size of it, or because you are afraid of germs?
People are getting a little nuts with all of the toilet seat fear. So now most places provide the little paper covers, and those are not even enough for some? :confused3 Why not just use a wipe and then put a seat cover down? Then wash your hands when you are done.

I would be more worried about the other places you pick up germs. The hand rails. The seatbelts. The strollers. Everything you touch at Disney is bound to be covered with germs. Just wash often and use hand sanatizer. But to single out the potty as "the" germy place is kind of silly.

I think the OP was more concerned with a small bottom on a big potty. The whole they could fall in problem. This is also a concern for me since my @ 2 year old will most likely be potty trained (man do I hope so) by the time we go to Disney (she will be almost 3). When they are that little it is hard for them to go potty and hold on to mommy and also for mommy to make sure that proper wiping gets done while holding on to child to make sure she doesn't fall into the potty. It's not so much a germ thing as a we don't want to fall into the potty thing!!

I tried to pee and poop today standing on the toilet. Boy did it work great. ;) Now to clean the bathroom of all that pee and poop.

i've never had a problem with my girls falling into the toilet. my younger DD feels more comfortable sitting sideways on a public toilet (usually the seats end in the front and leave a gap). i have always picked them up and put them on so they dont touch anything and then hold their hand if they need the security (although they dont fall back even without holding on). i also would wipe them in public (again because i didnt want them to touch the toilet with their hands)and pick them up off the toilet.

i wouldn't want to carry around a child seat (we never really used one at home either), but if that's what your child needs to be comfortable enough to use the restrooms i guess it would be necessary. have you tried using public restrooms with her before? maybe a little "practice" would help before the trip.

This might have mentioned before but I teach my children to wipe the seat, flush using their feet(sorry this might gross some out but I would rather that than get some nasty stuff on their hands and spread it when they wipe-it's really no worse then someone who wipes and uses that same hand to flush)
Good luck

Ok, I have to ask. Don't most people wipe then flush?:confused3 I always thought so, but maybe I am the weird one. If you wipe then flush, you don't have to worry about getting the flushing handle germs on you, and you can flush with your hand like you are supposed to. If we were meant to flush with our feet, there would be a lever in the floor. I'm more concerned with your feet that have just been on the bathroom floor (which is usually wet from goodness knows what) than your hands. But I wash my hands anyway, so it all comes off, but the floor has more ewwwww factor for me than your hands.:)
