Question about availability

we are renting points, we have 4 nights at bay lake. We want to extend it to a week, if within that week on the dvc sight shows no availability on 2 of the days we have already booked, and the extra days we want to add are showing available, would we be able to reserve the full week? Hope this isn’t too confusing! Thank you! The person I’m renting from is calling tomorrow, but I was curious how it would be handled.
 
If the days you still need to complete your week are still avail the owner could do 1 of two things.
1. Call member services and have them modify the reservation to be the full week.
2. Book the extra nights online right away (to make sure they don’t get snagged by another member) then at their leisure call member services to combine the two reservations.
 
It may also depend on which DVC website was checked. The RAT doesn't always show true availability. The DVC booking site does.

And if you see studios on the cash site, that does NOT mean they are bookable on points.
 
If you are the person renting points, you cannot call DVC member services or use the RAT. You'll need to contact the owner of the points to have them determine if those dates are available.

The final catch is that the member has to have more points they are looking to rent out. If they don't have points to spend, you can't rent them.
