Are they changing the theming of this, I was told that Areosmith was going to be removed an another rock band put in its place? TIA :listen:

First I've heard of it.

Haven't heard of it either. I hope not. That ride ROCKS. :cool2:

Have heard of this RUMOR,and would be very upset if they were to change it.However what I have heard on another website was that Aerosmiths contract was for 10 years and Disney might be looking to retheme the attraction and the band along with the change. However the website states that it's a crazy rumor and it isn't a really reliable source. What the website did confirm is that Hanes is the new sponsor of the ride and there's a Hanes logo by the guitar in front of the building. Now out of nowhere I did hear from my cousin who is someone who definitely wouldn't know anything about the parks so I took it like a REALLY crazy rumor which I would cringe if this happened,as according to her she heard that RnRC might be changing to a Hannah Montana theme!!! OUCH!!!Again she's only 20 years old and probably got this rumor from a friend.Nothing against Mylie or Hannah, but this attraction is uber cool with Aerosmith so leave it be.

I've heard this rumor for years now, I think. I'll believe it when it gets more concrete.

But I'd be happy if they did re-theme. Not a huge Aerosmith fan and REALLY hate that "Rag Doll" song. Know how some songs just irritate you for no good reason other than they do? ::yes::

Don't much care for "Dude Looks Like a Lady", either.

Hanes sponsors it now so they changed some signage to show the sponsorship but thats it.

Thank you, my dh read an article on AOL that talked about it changing hands...

The whole park changed its name because a license (with MGM) ran out. So I would not be surprised if a different band was featured on Rock 'n Roller Coaster some day.

It would depend on what licensing renewal Disney would get with Aerosmith versus another band.

>>> Hanes sponsors ...
Aerosmith is paid royalties as an artist, as opposed to being a sponsor paying Disney.

Who would like The Beach Boys as the featured band. They're popular over three generations and are still doing concerts with some original members.

Disney hints: http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/disney.htm

I abhor CD's with "remakes" or "rerecordings" often billed as "by the lead singer with one or more members of the original group" or worse, without any disclosure. But live performances of groups from decades ago are usually the same thing as these "remakes".

some how the Beach Boy's rockin' roller coaster just doesn't seem right....I'd pass.

They've been saying that since the ride first opened -- one of the original plans was for the ride to be changed every two years or so to reflect the changing musical tastes of the Guests (and appeal more strongly on return trips). I remember back when Hanson (!) was originally rumored to be the next replacement band. That's why the name of the attraction is "Rock-N-Rollercoaster Featuring Aerosmith" -- so Disney could always just change the name at the bottom of the sign.

It would be a relatively easy changeover -- but I'm putting as much stock in it as I have rumors of Star Tours II: Journey to Tattooine (meaning: I'll believe it when WDW makes a formal announcement).

Let's hope not. I really like it as it is.

I like RnRC just fine but another band would be ok too. Still, the park is themed around movies and I always thought the ride would make a great "Top Gun" ride: taking off from a carrier catapult, looping around to avoid missile lock, landing on the deck, it all works without changing the structure of the ride!
Hmm....

Hannah Montana?
I think I'm gonna throw up.

I hope they leave it alone. I've been a fan of Aerosmith since 1973. to change it to something as ridiculous as Hanna Montana would be the worst thing Disney could ever do!

You can't compare the two. Aerosmith is legendary. Hannah Montana is just a silly tv show for kids that most people over the age of 12 have zero interest in.

if Disney wants to make improvements, they can start by doing away with High school musical. and while they are at it, get rid of the tomb stone things at EPCOT that are just an eye sore and in everybody's way.

While I can understand other's preference for another band, asking for the Beach Boys based on their longevity and the fact they are touring with some original members really doesn't cut it.

After 38 years of performing, the band continues to tour and record music (with the original members of the band).

Aerosmith is the bestselling American hard rock band of all time, having sold 150 million albums worldwide, including 66.5 million albums in the United States alone. They also hold the record for the most gold and multi-platinum albums by an American group. The band has scored 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, nine #1 Mainstream Rock hits, four Grammy Awards, and ten MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, and in 2005 they were ranked #57 in Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

The entire premise of Rock and Roller Coaster is the hard drive to the concert. I don't see Kokomo being played in the limo as something that would fit. And it is called Rock and Roller Coaster. Got to have that good old rock and roll. Take those records off the shelf. Going to listen to them by myself.

Aerosmith has not had a hit for 15 or 20 years, yes they still tour and have a strong fan base but updating to current music would be a great idea.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Foo Fighters featured:thumbsup2 , Best of You would be awesome. The White Stripes would be nice as well, Seven Nation Army would be very cool. If they wanted to stay Classic, how about big lips to big lips, Rolling Stones. Of course Elvis would be the best, his music will always be around and Disney has the relationship with Lilo and Stitch.

My vote goes to Bon Jovi. A couple years ago, a ten year old started explaining who they were to me. Even told me the singer had a longer name that sounded like Bon Jovi.

So, I guess that - at least as of 2 years ago - they're still around a bit. Plus, Jon was then and continues to be so very cute. What a smile on that guy. :faint:

Aerosmith was a very good band choice because all age groups seem to know and like them....
If it was up to my son he would have Nirvana, The Used or UnderOath and my daughter might choose Hawthorne Heights, Linkin Park or Paramore... My mom would probably go for the Beach Boys or Elvis and Guns-n-roses and BonJovi were big in my youth but really there are only so many bands that can pretty much attract all age groups and Aerosmith is one of them!! My kids love them and have even asked if we could go see them in concert before they stop touring and my Mom who is in her mid 60's likes them too!!!
Honestly Miley Cyrus?:rotfl2: I dont think so!

I wish they'd get a bunch of different songs - really good rock songs like "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Let's Spend the Night Together" and stuff like that. Then you'd never know who you were going to hear.

I know that Rolling Stones music might cost a lot, but there are a lot of decent one-hit-wonders that they could probably get cheap. Maybe. Not like I know a single thing about the record business.

Rolling Stones were the first choice for R&RC but wanted more money than WDW was willing to give up, so Aerosmith was next in line. I don't think they would accept any less money now.

I think it should stay as is for at least several more years. There isn't another band that has been mentioned here except for Bon Jovi, that has had the same level of success for as many years. And Aerosmith tops Bon Jovi in that dept. by several years.
