Question about Ap vouchers...

Our next trip most likely won't be until August 2009, and dh and I are seriously considering getting AP then since we plan on going back again before August 2010. Anyway, so if I purchase the AP now, I will get a voucher, right? Is there a time frame when I have to activate the voucher? Can I purchase just one right now to have access to the Passholder website and purchase the other other 3 for my family later? Also, when do AP rates typically comes out...from what I have been reading, it looks like August 2009 rates may only come out around May/June 2009. I do not want to wait that late to make my reservation...so can I book my hotel and dining now, and then can the rate adjusted if/when the AP rates are released?

You are correct. We got our vouchers a few weeks ago, but we had trouble with the website. DH called and the CM was able to help him.

Yes you can buy your vouchers at anytime and the clock does not start ticking on them until you activate them at WDW. I but my voucher for my 2009 trip in march of 06. Then bought DH's in 10/07 when I saved up enough rewards points. I can use the voucher numbers to log on to the passholder website. The directions are a little confusing and it took me a while to figure it out . I bought mine early for 3 reasons.

1. Save money by buying before ticket increases
2. The $ actually gets put towardds Disney instead of getting used for other things.

3. I already spent the money. Now we HAVE to go to WDW!!

When we got our first AP vouchers, I had trouble accessing the site because although they show you what numbers from the voucher you should enter, it wasn't entirely obvious to me how they should be entered, and I generally don't have problems with these things!

I think it had something to do with the last few digits - if I remember correctly, the number could be 1-5 digits long, but it made it look like you needed to enter 5 digits, or something like that.

Eventually I figured it out, and had full access...

Which reminds me, I need to order a couple more...
