does everyone in the room have to have a ap if the room is in my name (i have ap)? and how does it work with the ddp since now you do not have to buy a one day ticket if you have ap....please help...trying to plan a grand gathering and only half of us have AP and we are getting the ddp...

Only one person needs an AP when booking an AP room rate (my understanding is it can even be a child). Never used DDP (I always use DDE with my AP) but they do offer new packages where you don't have to buy the ticket to get DDP. Did you call Disney and ask them what to do for a split party? I'm sure they'll let you know exactly what you need to do.

Only one person in the room needs an AP and everyone gets the DDP. You can then purchase tickets for whoever needs them separately

Seconding that. My DH, DD and I have APs, and we brought my MIL for a trip with us last April. We were able to book the room (Ft. Wilderness cabin) and the DDP for all four of us. My MIL then got her park tickets when we arrived on the property.

GREAT THANKS! we are splitting the cost with my bff family (except ticket cost) ....they are the ONLY people that we can vacation with...
