Question about antibiotic....

I have strep throat and am taking amoxicillan 3 times a day. I took 2 pills yesterday and 1 this morning with no problems. I took one this afternoon a few hours after lunch. Now, all of a sudden I'm feeling sick to my stomach. Could it be because I didn't take the amox. with food? Should I try to eat something to make my stomach better?

Yes, eat something.

Amoxicillan is *generally* pretty mild but it can cause upset stomach. Make sure you keep food in your stomach.

Probably. This happened to me before and I drank a glass of milk and it helped. Milk will coat your stomach. It's worth a try.

Yep,

these antibiotics do sometimes cause this. They can really do a number on me.

Also, Strep itself can cause nausea and stomach problems!

Try some crackers and milk, or fizzy Coke. (Coke is good on the stomach!)
