Question about annual pass or seasonal pass?

Hi, We're going in August for 4 nights before Disney. We're not doing Volcano Bay-some advice on what ticket you would recommend? I can't seem to find the difference between a seasonal pass and power pass? Are both active from the first date you use it, then for another year? I wasn't sure if seasonal pass only ran until the end of the year? I think at this point, for 3 adults, no park to park, it's running about $854 for 4 day tickets. We're going to stay at RP in a King suite, so hoping to get the APH discount, so I know at least 1 of us needs the pass, (hopefully we can get the discount for August!). We've been going to Universal the last few years, so there is a good chance we would return next year. We're going after Aug 13th, so we don't have to worry about black out dates.

All the passes are good for a year from first use. I guess it's seasonal because of the blackouts. We used to have a three seasons pass to WDW way back in the day when they actually had slow times.

I think the power passes have black out periods too-that's what we had last year, and I remember checking on the black out dates. Do you know the difference between the 2? Thanks!!

I don't know if it's me, because I'm stressed because we're in the middle of moving, but what happened to the nice comparison chart Universal use to have to show the different passes with their cost and perks?

Seasonal pass has more blackouts than the power, and things like the concert days (Mardi Gras/Summer Concert) aren't included in the Seasonal. This is true of both the 2 and new 3 park seasonal pass.

Power pass has blackouts, but concert access. Neither have parking.
