Question about Aladdin closing in August.

I just read in a link in a previous thread that Aladdin is closing August 15. We are going for our first trip to DLR August 13-18. Is there anything we can do to assure that we can see the show before it closes barring standing in line for many hours or paying gazillions of dollars? I'd really like to see it but I imagine it will be quite crazy crowded those last days.

Thanks!

I saw it this past weekend. We got there about 10 mins before show started. had to walk 5 flights of stairs but it was worth it.
I would recommend getting there early and get a lower balcony seat. It was very difficult running up the stairs after a full day walking around the parks. They do have an elevator, but the CMs were very rude about letting people use them.

Not sure if the added cost is worth it, but I believe if you book a Disney vacation package they include priority seating to Aladdin.

Costco, Disney, AAA have been offering the PS with their packages. When we did the show in August, there was no $$ difference between the package and booking everything separate. Even had a character meal included with the price.

Thanks for the replies! We may have to just wait/get in line early. A package won't work for us as we are going to WDW August 9-13 and buying 8 day park hoppers and then flying on the 13th to DLR and using the remaining five days fo the park hoppers there. It was about $400 each (for the 4 of us) cheaper to drive to and fly from Orlando than from our home in NC so it was cheaper to spend a few days in the world, buy the tickets there and fly to DLR than it would have been to just go to DL. Bummer, eh? Forced to go to both resorts. Sigh. ;)

Awww, that's simply awful! :charac2: :)

If you can, I would personally try to go to the first show possible on Friday (or possibly the second). I'm not sure that crowds are generally lower for the first shows (I think they might be worse in some cases). But I wouldn't be surprised if locals/daytrippers/tourists taking long weekends came down to see the show sometime well after park opening on Friday. A local who took half a day off work would be in great shape to see the 4:15 or 5:50 shows.

I know right now people are reporting being able to get in while getting there shortly before showtime (we got there practically AT showtime on an overcast day in December and managed to get in the lowest level). I would keep a close eye on the DISboards this summer and see if that is still the case as the final date for Aladdin approaches.

Between blockouts on Saturday and human nature, my best guess is that the very worst crowds would be the last day it runs (particularly the very last show). But I agree with you that it should be pretty busy the whole time you are there.

At this moment my guess would be that you'd be fine on Friday if you got to an early show an hour in advance. It will be fun to see how far off I am in August. :)

Have a great trip!

Great insight! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Walking up all those stairs isn't fun, but don't fret if those are the only seats left. Some parts of the show are viewed better from up there ;)

I am so glad that I was able to see it for the last time in December. Out of all the shows I have ever seen it is truly the best and cannot be missed.
