This is a random question (don't say I didn't warn you!).
When you call to make ADRs, why do they ask you to press 1 if you have visited WDW before and press 2 if you have not (or vice versa - I don't remember)?
Then after selecting the return visitor option, it asks you if you have been since 2003.
I am just wondering, do they customize your reservation experience based on whether you have visited in the past and when you have visited? When I pressed the button for "not since 2003", I didn't get any pre-recorded messages or anything. Doesn't seem like the CMs treated me in any way differently than they might have treated someone else. My most recent visit never came up as a discussion topic.
I assume pressing these buttons somehow routes the calls. Or does it just make it seem that the on-hold wait time is shorter if you are actively pressing buttons?
Just curious if anyone knows the answer to this one.
