Question about adding points

We recently bought direct from Disney at BLT for $128 point but it was listed at $140. We were thinking of adding 25 points. Would we pay 128 or 140??

I just talked to the guide this week--all BLT points are $140/pp. No discounts. If this is a new contract, not something you currently are working on, it will be $140.

You'd pay the going rate, whatever it was at the time. You aren't locked into a fixed price for future purchases. Buy a resale and save money.

If you buy add-on points direct, do they automatically link up with your use year so you can use them to book all at once, or could you conceivably have bunches of points with different use years, such that that is something to be alert to?

an "add-on" contract by definition would be for the same UY month and under the same membership number. if you buy direct, it would have to be the same UY month unless you bought a new membership (at whatever minimum is in effect at the time - 160 pts or whatever.)

some people talk about "adding on" by buying resales with different UY months, but that's not really the same thing.

How recent? Did you return your paperwork? Did you close? The only thing you can do is call your guide, but I would fully expect to pay $140. Yes, resale will save you money, but keep in mind the new restrictions in place. Also, resale might take some time to close and actually acquire the points in your account. By purchasing direct, the points are in your account usually within a day (in our case in about an hour each time).

If you have a Disney Visa, you could charge the entire purchase and have 6 months no interest (up to $2500, I think). Something to consider...

thanks everyone! I called our agent last night and left a message about adding another 25points to our membership. Now I'm just waiting for her to call us back
