Hi all,

I am planning a trip to WDW next summer with DH and DD15. The plan is to stay at POR for two weeks. We have done this before, purchasing a package that included 10-day tickets and a dining plan. My other daughter, DD20, will be doing an internship and is only allocated one week for holidays, so will be joining us for part of our holiday.

Is it possible to book a package for the three of us for one week, and then add DD20 to the existing reservation for the second? From the information I've seen (not sure if it is accurate), it seems that this is not possible, and that I would have to include and pay for her for the entire two week period (hotel, tickets, dining plan). Another option that I have seen is to book a split stay (maybe POR and POFQ), each for a week's package. But if I do this, wouldn't I be paying substantially more as my DH, DD15, and I would be paying for two park ticket packages (since the first few days are the most expensive, and we'd be paying for that twice)?

I am thinking that my best bet would be to make a WDW hotel only reservation, adding DD20 for her nights, foregoing the dining plan, and buying park tickets separately. Would we still be able to make FastPass reservations at 60-days out (I've never gone to WDW without booking a package before)? Would this be the best plan, or is there an option that i haven't even thought of?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you try to add her before you arrive, she will be added for the whole 2 weeks and will have the same package as everyone else. Your best bet is when you arrive add her to the reservation for only the nights she will be staying with you. Once that's done she will be able to make a Magical Express reservation if needed. As long as she has park tickets linked to her My Disney Experience account you will be able to include her in any of the FP+ reservations you make at 60 days out.

There are a couple of ways you can do this:

1) As dansdad said, simply make your 2-week reservation and then add DD20 after you check-in. She would only, then, be on the room reservation for the nights she will be there. She would not have the dining plan nor the tickets attached to that package. You can buy her park tickets separately and, as dansdad said, simply link them to her profile in MDE (make sure she is either in your MDE account or her MDE account is linked to yours through Friends and Family) and then you can make her FP+ when you make yours. Once she's on the reservation, you can book DME for her.

2) Do a split stay if you would like. If you do this, I would book a room/ticket/dining package for the first stay for just you, DH and DD15. You can book 10-day tickets with this first package. For your second stay, you can either book a room-only (your tickets from your first stay will still be valid for your second stay) and put all four of you on the reservation (again, purchasing DD20's ticket separately) or you can call in and book a "ticketless package" with room plus a dining plan (again, your tickets from the first stay will still be valid and you would buy DD20's tickets separately). By doing the split, you would be able to get DD20 the dining plan for the second stay and book DME for her prior to arrival. If you would like to try out a different resort for your second week, this could be the way to go. You could also simply book the same resort and room category for both stays and ask when you check in if you could stay in the same room for both weeks. They will do their best to accommodate this request.

Don't forget, you will be charged $25 per night for the third adult - so you don't want to add her on nights she's not there.
