Question about activating tickets with a split stay

We’re spending the first night at Animal Kingdom Lodge and transferring to All Star Movies which is where our tickets and dining plan are linked. Do I physically need to check in at All Stars to activate our tickets and dining plan, or can I just do online check in?

Online check in is fine. Your tickets will become valid to use on the first day of your package - they don't really need to be "activated."
