Question about $99 HRH/$129 Portofino Deal

In last week's (10/21) paper, USF ran an ad promoting $99 at HRH and "you can purchase a 2-Day/2-Park ticket for the price of a single day ticket!". Sounds like a great deal so I called. They didn't have availability at HRH but did offer the same deal for $129 at Portofino so I took it.

My question .... does the ticket offer only good for one ticket or does it apply to everyone staying in the room? It would still be a good deal if it only applied to one (approx $38 savings not accounting for tax) but a GREAT deal if it applied to everyone in the group.

Could you tell me more?? What paper was that in, what area? Did it give a time range? Any info helpful...Thanks deb

It was in the Raleigh News & Observer. I got the impression from the person taking my reservation that the offer was limited to the SouthEast US. Blackout dates included 12/24/01-1/1/02. Travel needed to be completed by 2/14/02.

Did anyone else inquire or take advantage of this offer? I'm still curious as to whether the ticket offer was good for one or everyone in the party?

I decided to the sensible thing and pick up the phone, call the Portofino and ask them. They said EVERYONE staying at the room could purchase the 2-day pass for the price of one.

WHAT A DEAL! If my calculations are right I'm saving an additional $152 (4 people save $38 each). If I subtract that off the $129/night for two nights, I'm effectively paying for $53/night to stay at the Portofino? Can this be right?

That's assuming it's the same price as a 1 day/1 park ticket and not the 1 day/2 park ticket ...

I was told it was a 2 day/2 park pass for the price of the one day ticket about 4 weeks when I asked the same question.

You must be from either FL, AL, LA, or GA to get the offer and must show a valid drivers license at the desk.

hope this helps someone...

It is a great deal. I booked this also about 3 weeks ago and was told that the tkts are for everyone in the room. I've since added one more person to our entourage so the more the merrier... :D

I have a 99$ rate at Hard Rock that I booked through Lowes - only for one night.
I've called to inquire about this "99.00 a night and buy a two day pass for the price of one " and I'm told that it is
"149.00 a night and you have to stay at least two nights"

Is this correct? Is this what yall are talking about with the passes?
I'm confused. Am I missing something?

Puffy2,

The ad definitely stated that it was 99/night but there were some blackout dates around Christmas and it does end on 2/14/02. You should qualify since you live in Georgia. I think it was limited to the southeast region of the country - probably people who would be willing to drive if flying made them uneasy. Now if I could just get a cheap flight for my travel dates. Call them back and maybe you will get a more knowledgable employee.
