Question about 14 Day Explorer 3 Park Tickets for US Families

Looking to take my family to Universal Orlando this summer in mid-late August staying at Portofino Bay for 7 or 8 nights. Given that by that point they will have Volcano Bay open we'd like to get tickets that include all 3 parks if possible. Currently, the only tickets that I'm finding on the UO website are the 3 park, 5 day tickets but I also know that there is a 14 day, 3 park ticket being sold for the British vacations that would work perfectly for our longer stay if it's usable by someone living in the US.

Does anyone have any experience in purchasing and using these tickets while living in the US? Is this even doable?

Thanks in advance.

For a longer stay, an ap is appropriate.

Don't know if you can buy or use the British tickets but if not, aps work. :)

Can't help you on the ticket situation but we stayed at Portofino in late Aug of 2015 and had a great time. :) Might want to wait a bit and see if they expand the ticket selection? Seems odd they don't offer longer tickets. But prob because its about the same cost to get an AP.

Thanks for the replies. I was originally looking at AP's but none of them (yet) include Volcano Bay and even when they eventually do it doesn't really make sense to pay the premium when we are only going for one visit during the year. The 14 day tickets would be ideal as we would be paying for exactly what we would need.

I found the Universal Explorer ticket at a 3rd party site online. It's a 3 park explorer ticket and its good for going from park to park for up to 14 days. The site is park-tickets and it's available to US residents. Has anyone used them before?

We are planning the same vacation. 8 nights staying at Cabana Bay in late August. If you buy the package through Universal.com (US site) the Explorer Ticket is included in the package.

Thanks for all the replies and information. We ended up booking the package as well to get the Explorer tickets and the pricing works out great for us. They should be perfect for what we want to do and having access to Volcano Bay any day we want it during that period will be amazing with the expected August heat.
