I am interested in booking Disney's Yacht Club with free dining and 14 day Ultimate Ticket for May 2015 for 3 adults.

The question is we have 4 disney no expire hopper tickets left over from a previous holiday. Do you think disney would let us upgrade the 4 tickets to a 14 day ticket for a fee and just pay full price for 2 14 day Ultimate tickets and would we still be able to get free dining for all 3 of us?

Hope someone gets this !! Someone may of been in this situation this year during free dining.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi

The longest ticket you can get in the US is a 10 day ticket, after that you're looking at an AP.

As for the package, you'll only get free dining with a ticket purchase. Frustrated AP holder here without free dining an option :sad2:

You could always use your old tickets on another trip?

you have the no expire option. You cannot upgrade them.
no ticket shall be upgraded if they're more than 14 days after their first use.

so, unless your first use of those tickets was less than 14 days ago, those tickets are not upgradable

And on top of this, MYW tickets are different from Ultimate tickets, no bridge between the 2. (only between ultimate and AP)

And finally, MYW cannot exceed 10 days total, so if your tickets used to be 10 days, they would not have been upgradable in the first place. If they had been 8 days, you could have added only 2 days, but since you upgraded them to no expire, they're locked. No upgrade.

Book am extra three nights somewhere super cheap looks like your best bet and enjoy an 18 day holiday!!! I've never stayed in a value resort, couldn't do it for two weeks but I would like to see them so if this was me I'd be tempted to do a night at Pop, a night at one of the All Stars and a night at AoA to see them all quickly before settling down into luxury at the Yacht Club :)

Unfortunately to qualify for free dining you have to book a complete package of room, tickets & DDP.

Also once you have a no expire ticket outside 14 days from first use you can no longer upgrade it.

I am too in the same situation we have 7 day non expiry tickets from a previous trip but they are unused. Can we do anything as really don't need the ultimate tickets.

If you want free dining unfortunately not. You have to buy tickets to qualify and they expire at the end if the calendar year in which they are purchased.

You only options would be to book through Disney US and hope they offer a room only discount for your dates or look at renting DVC points where you can buy the DDP without needing to buy tickets however I would never recommend paying for the DDP without doing the sums first as most people do not even break even.

Can I change the 14 Ultimate Tickets?

Can I change the 14 Ultimate Tickets?

The only thing you can do with Ultimate tickets is upgrade them to annual passes.

You would be best off using the Ultimates and saving your old non expiring tickets for another time.

Can I change the 14 Ultimate Tickets?

you can only purchase 14 or 21 days ultimate tickets as part of your package for the 2015 free dining deal

2015 tickets must be activated (used for the first time) by December 31, 2015. (or they expire)

I'm not sure what you mean by "change" the tickets, but if you mean buy another form of tickets, the answer is no.
you can still upgrade them to AP (or PAP) but as PP advised, use your ultimates and save the 7 days for later.

Thank you for your replies - much appreciated. We are only attending to attend parks for 3-4 days. Could we upgrade on to Annual Pass them onto our friend for their trip?

The Ultimate tickets are non-transferable and if you purchased annual passes they too would be non-transferable as they are issued as active passes in your name.

Thanks for all your replies,

I think we will try to buy some points and go to the Boardwalk Villas and use our 4 days very old (6 yrs) tickets.

The last time we stayed on site we booked the free DDP at SSR and had to get the 14 day tickets even though we already had Annual Passes. when we got to SSR we asked if they could separate our tickets from our room keys which they were happy to do. When we got home we called Disney in the US and I asked if they could extend the date of the tickets so I could use them the following year. They cancelled the tickets we had and posted new ones which we used the following year. I was quite surprised they did it but just explained that we had had to buy the 14 day ticket when we hadn't needed it. I had thought that I wold just end up giving them to a friend who was going later the same year so I was so happy as it saved me about £700 the following year.
Don't have that problem anymore as we stay at Bonnet Creek.

The issue is since they have brought in MDE once the ticket is on an account there is now way to get it off. Package tickets are now also non-transferable.

We have annual passes and what I end up doing if upgrading our 14 day passes to APs. It's a pain but at least we get some value from them then. I will only do it at OKW with the 35% discount and free dining - it's not worth the risk to me otherwise.

I think we may not go for the UK Free Dining Offer and take the chance with a US offer as you only need 2 Day Passes (hopefully the can be upgraded / seperated from Room Key) DS & DD will be both at Uni next year. Fingers crossed it will be the same dates for the US as they offering at the moment for 2014.

The US tickets are be kept indefinitely as they are not year restricted like UK tickets but they can not be taken of your MDE and they are non-transferable.

You can upgrade them to more days/options as they are MYW tickets.

Even if you don't get free dining I would put money on a room discount. If may work out cheaper depending on your resort and you wouldn't need to buy tickets at all.

Thanks Elise79 - how much are the rooms discounted by. Probably like to
Stay at Port Orleans or SSR. We used to book Interline rates as DH works for an airline. Disney have stopped that now we have been lucky to get 50% it was the reduced to 40% now stopped altogether.

Depends on the time of year but moderates are usually 25% and deluxes 30% - it can change though.
